Alex Collado

Something PL clubs do with their youth is even if they don't think they have much of a shot for the first-team they'll play them in the cup, some easy league games and easy European games to get their value up and then sell them for an easy 10-15m. Moriba is a great example of it (not that we didn't plan to keep him, but of how value can increase) as even though he didn't play that much, he had some good moments and that got us over 15m for a player in the last year of contract and who was leaving on a free.

Collado has been in the B team even at 22 and has barely got a minute with the first-team despite there being many useless games you could've played him. Same goes for Konrad who we sold for 3.5mil and a sell onfee (an absolute robbery, he's currently a spot starter for Marseille at only 20). Only we sell our youth this cheap despite how hyped the brand of Barca B and La Masia is. Same for Oriol who left on a free, Alena who we only got a few mill for, Manaj with his great preseason only has a loan option of 3mill, etc, Monchu left on a free (???) We are the worst at selling our players.

Good point actually. Good ideology and easy way to potentially bump up the price.

They're running the club like it's a cartel. Puig gets to stay and enjoy the lifestyle and even manages to put pressure on the coach to start him, while being useless. And Collado is treated like shit. Big mistake by Laporta. And not that we've lost something, but that's not how you do it.

Collado has only himself to blame. Should have played golf with the president, instead of training and trying to improve himself as a player. At Barca you don't need hard work and talent to stay, just need the right connections.

lol@while being useless. You didn't describe him like that before summer, but after a summer of not playing, then playing decently well and scoring 2 nice goals in preseason he's suddenly useless.
Collado, Konrad, Puig were all treated a bit like shit by Koeman it seems.

Koeman and the board was honest with Collado, and he had 2 deals that he didn't finalize at the end

Such weak mentality

?lex Collado thought of retiring from football when the summer ended. President Laporta called him to encourage him to not give up. He also said that he would try to fix the situation with La Liga [sport]

Weak is having the cheek to weigh in on what a professional athlete goes through, not knowing anything about it

Wow that's crazy. While he is not Barca level. He could play for a lot of pretty good teams.

If he wanted to quit just because Barca couldn't register him then he has zero mentality to play at professional level, at any club.

Of course the 'Laporta calmed him down' was included. Sewer-level media. Always looking to find a Laporta angle wherever they can to try and push everything onto Koeman. Poor Collado. Being used as a pawn for Laporta as so many other players have before.

He's had a pretty rough time at Barca. He was still in B at his 22nd birthday and hasn't even played 90mins with the first team, then due to a registration fuckup he has to spend 6 months playing no minutes at all at any level.

Club Brugge, Sheffield United, FC Andorra(owned by Pique), Real Betis, Almeria, Parma & FC Copenhagen have all shown interest in Alex Collado come January, as both the player and the club look for a way out. Bar?a wants to loan him out without a buy option.

Xavi is allegedly very impressed with Collado and thinks he can be useful next season and gain prominence.

*Remember he cannot be registered in January as Liga rules forbid the reregistration of a player after they have been deregistered in the same season.
