Conversely, Messi won 3 of his CLs without having any Ballon D'or Winners.

CR7 has just had too much help in his career from his teammates.

Xavi and Iniesta do have those MVP/Golden Ball/Player of the Tournament awards for those 3 tournaments, but its still not as prestigious as a Ballon D'or.
