As a free transfer he's fine. But he's not getting close to that City 11 regardless of the contract situation. Doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad thing though as Pique wasn't getting close to United's 11 when we signed him either.
Not saying Garcia will be anything like Pique though by the way, but similar situation in that they just have much better defenders at their current club at the time.

Now you can discuss all you want if he's even close to being as good as those guys, but the truth is that I couldn't care less as I've made my own opinion about Eric Garcia clear multiple times on here.

Eric Garcia and de la Pena should have known that negotiating with a club without a President could have backfired on them. He's not some generational CB or a World Class CB we absolutely have to sign.
Offer whatever the club deem is possible and tell them to take it leave it.
Well, if Eric Garcia never left, he wouldn't have to worry about contract offers from the old board being reduced.

Hopefully it's not true about being unhappy with the new offer. Don't footballers realise (especially young ones) if you play well enough and work hard enough then you'll be given a much bigger contract. Players want everything for nothing it seems. Probably just media bs though. (hope)
