I mean, he played in a CL final and won. Played in both semifinals vs Madrid in 20/21 which Chelsea won. Refused to play in an FA cup final because of nerves and "feeling ill", however. It is a weird situation

Those matches against Madrid were played behind closed doors and the final was limited capacity. Likely something to do with fans and crowd noise.

It's anxiety, a documented problem. He is nervous on matchdays. Misses several games each season due to this. Even Sarri talked about him having stomachaches on matchdays in 2019

It's 2022.
Clubs are supposed to have experts in everything related to footballer's health.

And you are telling me a professional psychologist cannot help him with a very common phenomenon of anxiety somatization??

You can't have anxiety for a friendly game and call youself a professional footballer.

Most likely wasnt. Maybe, because it?s a meaningless friendly, there is zero reasons to take any risks and play with discomforts which could turn into injuries?
