Puig's performance since signing with LA Galaxy got the team into the playoffs for the first time since 2019. Tonight:

- won a penalty (he took; saved by keeper)
- through ball to Chicharito to win another penalty (taken by Costa; scored to even the game and clinch playoff spot)
- screamer shot that hit the crossbar (an inch lower, it would have rebounded across the goal line)

MLS is a shitshow but no question Puig is succeeding at his mission. Most of his passes are progressive and successful. Lots of Xavi 360 turns to distribute.

Also, with more game time, you can see he's a bit of a dick. Not necessarily a bad thing- he's aggressive and wants to win.

Here is a highlight video from the game, where you can see that very nice one touch+dribble to win the penalty, the terrible penalty kick, the very nice pass to win the next penalty, and the screamer, + a couple of more nice passes from Puig. Seems to have been a tough game!

Very satisfying to see Puig playing every week now, and playing well. The only negative is that the time zone makes it tough to catch the games live.

Douglas Costa looks fat.

Also nice moment by Puig at 5:40 but why is that defender running past him lol.

Always knew he was but of course he had to wait till he was given full matches to prove himself before his full personality came out. The type of personality and skill Barca really needs.

And he's not really an asshole, just has high expectations for himself and team as should.

"Riqui Puig...How good has Riqui Puig been today... Outstanding! Best player on the pitch for Galaxy?"

Those americans commentating sure love Puig and his style and class. I thought yesterdays game was so-so, he was a bit focused on attack and rested a lot in defense, playing a free role almost, making use of the wide space to set up a lot of plays. Of course he was as always very smooth on the ball and progressed it nicely, and there were a few very nice actions. I agree that he should come back to Barcelona in a perfect universe, but how nice it must be for him to finally play all the time, being the obvious main focus of his team.

His shooting touch is very good for those that didn't know, that shot that went just high was very fast and good, he can score for sure from a distance when he tries.

Actually let him dominate at Galaxy till summer that way maybe PSG will go for him. Imagine Puig, Verratti, Mbappe, Ney, Messi. Huge upgrade over Vitinha for sure.
