FC Barcelona Finances

Finally someone with a proper bias-free explanation on Barcelona finances.

https://youtu.be/mPh6R-mHJSo

Ehh... there's still some bias and some aspects the guy gets wrong, and the interviewer is your typical EPL fan who fails to grasp how other clubs work.

Like De Jong doesn't stay at Barcelona because of deferred money. That would be paid from the transfer deal if anything. It's far from the main obstacle. His contract is bigger than just what he is owned from the last 2 years when he deferred it.

He is staying because Barca are way bigger and more high profile than Chelsea and United. And because the overall contract he signed in 2020 with Bartomeu is great.

To dwell into Barca economics properly, you have to understand the difference between a privately owned club who can pour money in the club through capital injection from their owners at will to cover for any losses (either disguised or transparent), and a club who is basically funded and operated by the balance of what the club makes and spends. When that balance is fucked up by incompetence and/or corruption, the options you have are limited. And Barcelona is simply too big of a club with too high global ambitions to function like an an Athletic Bilbao for 5-10 years.

It is as simple as that, this is like the most condensed pill of information to explain current situation. The most basic first step you have to make to understand Barcelona related matters and struggles, and 99% of those EPL muppets can't even take that first step.

Laurens has no freaking clue what he's talking about. He's a regular in ESPN FC, constantly uses a stupid example go try and illustrate what Barcelona are trying to do financially.

Only English speaking person who has a club what he's talking about is sid lowe.

What a world we live in, where a club needs to raise almost 1 billion dollars in order to register some players.

That Laurens guy was the one who made the stupid analogy of us buying a Ferrari but couldn't pay the money for it. Complete nonsense.

Anyways, I'd prefer we didn't do it, but selling 24.5% of Barca Studios to Jaume Roures who owns Mediapro is much better than selling it to that circus company or anybody else who doesn't have much experience in media, content production and entertainment. Mediapro has a ton of expertise in content production, it will help Barca Studios grow in that area for sure. So essentially we are partnering with experts in two key areas, content production (Mediapro) and Web3 and NFT (Socios.com), good.

He's soooo bad, cringeworthy. ESPN FC has become much like ESPN in general, nonsense punditry aimed at the LCD - they're all poor. Sid is the only intelligent one on there but when that crew gets going, Lowe turns into the grim reaper himself and he jumps in with the shtick as well

It's not a serious football crew

According to Luis F. Rojo, (MARCA Journalist) Who covers Barca, says the Captains aren't willing to reduce their salary and now they'll ask Pjanic and Mats to reduce theirs.

If Pjanic and MATS reduce, but Pique Busi and Alba refuse to reduce,

they should be stripped off captaincy...

AS CLEAR AS IT GETS

Not only that, should be put on stands and transfer list them.

If a transfer was possible... But sadly it's not for the sacred cows.
We have to endure them for this season, and maybe Alba for another

But in any case, they shouldn't represent the club if they don't live up to the responsibilities and duties a captain's armband carries with it
