How would we play without Messi ?

6 Ballons for Messi

but what if he wins 7??
Not all matches were small impact games in la liga. And if you read carefully,I said we are still amazing without him,and even better with him.

Yeah that's obvious but let's not get ahead of ourselves, messi is the single reason that this team has elevated from a standard world class team to an all time great team during these last 10 years.

Of course? When did I say otherwise. What I said was people used to think we would be worse without messi than we actually are without him now.And that should be noticed.

Messi isnt 'the single reason' for anything.

He is the best player in a team of many world class players.

I agree, because most of our play relied on Messi and he played every game it was hard to imagine what it would look like without him, especially with Iniesta's level last season, which would have been tasked with the creation if Messi wasn't there, the alternative looked bad .. but that was before we knew how good Neymar can be when in charge :)

To be completely honest, I believe we need to wait for the Clasico to have a real feel of how good we can play against a world class team that will come to get us, but overall, I think we have a great team even without Messi yes, and I hope that we can still see Neymar doing some of the creation when d10s is back, because then we'd be really terrifying if we can be that good from both flanks.

Jeepers you are like some creepy Messi fanboy who cant stand anyone that doesnt give Messi 100% credit for every single Barca achievement.

You equate anyone who doesnt agree with your ridiculous opinion as a 'Messi hater'. Grow up.

Yeah but we are in a barca forum mate and you are the one always talking down messi.

Again you dont get it.

I never talk Messi down at all. Messi is the greatest player of all time but I to suggest he is 'the single reason' for Barca being elevated to an all time great team is ridiculous and totally lacks understanding of the many elements that made Barca one of the best ever.

Yeah, it all comes down to a single player though.
Answer me jamdav, without messi, would barca achieve all they achieved in these last 10 years?

And you do have some messi hating comments, didn't you post couple weeks ago that it would be best for barca to sell messi right now so that neymar can take his place?

Haha no I never said it would be best to sell Messi now to keep Neymar happy so try to understand what is being said.

So try again and find 'Messi hating comments'.

No it doesnt 'all come down to one player'.

We were thought by many including barca fans that we are nothing without messi. Its clear now though that we are still world class without him.

Without Messi, we would be 2nd in La Liga, or maybe 3rd, if we would have disastrous season.
In CL, we would be 50:50 with any semidecent team like City, Dortmund, Psg.
We could win in any of these matches, but we could crumble also, against any opponent. We would play extremely hot and cold against better teams.
In majority of top matches, we would lack a factor X. (Messi)

Against top teams who don't have injuries, like Real or Bayern, we would probably lose (something like 70:30 advantage for them on paper).

About the part how we have proven that we are world class without Messi, we played against a bunch of weak to mediocre teams.
We are so much richer then then and have so much talent that we would win a majority of matches NOT only without Messi, but probably even without 2 out of 3 MSN players (like Messi+Suarez).

All guess work, just like you told us last season how poor Neymar is and how Barca would struggle in '50%' of games in this period Messi is injured.

I wasn't impressed by Neymar till the end of the last season.
Neymar proved to be awesome.
On the other hand, I told for a bunch of (our) players that they are crap, and they turned out to be a crap.
You make mistakes sometimes, you are right sometimes.

Of course that this is a guessing game.
We can't know this for sure UNTIL we will actually have to play CL knockout rounds without Messi.

I love SN duo from MSN trio, but I am not convinced that they would lead us to trophies currently without Messi.
Regarding Neymar, he still can improve a lot.
He could turn into a guy who will alone bring us trophies, but he could also turn into an awesome guy but a guy who alone can't do wonders.

Imo, current team is built around Messi, and SN are his little helpers.
So it is not fair to "play" only with an SN dou.

So, for the end:
1. MSN trio is the best trio in the world, and anything except 2 or 3 CL titles in these 4 years with them, I will consider as a failure
2. SN (Neymar-Suarez) alone, with injured Messi, aren't good enough for CL titles
3. but in some other universe, if Messi would finish his career or get sidelined for 1-2 years, Neymar-Suarez with a new world class 3rd attacker, like Reus or something like that, could again be good enough for a CL glory
-- we wouldn't dominate like with Messi, but we would be one out of 2-3-4 favorites in every season, and we would probably win 1 CL each 3-4-5 years

So, I don't think that in GENERAL Neymar-Suarez are bad/not good enough.
But in the current world, where they are "a weaker" part of MSN trio, they are NOT good enough without Messi (for a CL glory).
In some other universe, with some new MSN-guy, they could be good enough.

Of course Barca could win the CL without Messi. They would still be one of the best 3/4 teams in europe.

It would be less likely but so too is it less likely without Suarez or Neymar just to a lesser extent.

Barca were not good enough for a CL without Neymar and Suarez for the last 4 years anyway and were not good enough for the title in the previous two.
