Matheus Cunha going from a team (for all intents and purposes) 3rd in La Liga to a team placed bottom in the Premier League

The answer is money.. Last placed team in Premier League gets more money than winner of Champions League.. They can offer him more salary than any other club who was interested in sigining him..

More beneficial for his career to play even for bottom of EPL than for the 3-5th teams of LL

Truly sad yet Tebas seems more concerned about salary cap than anything. Yet the league is dying in front of his eyes. It's truly disgusting.

Tebas keeps defending that Barca and Real make as much TV money as top PL teams, but for how long? Soon no one will watch this league because all the best are in the premier league. He is a freaking donkey because he doesn't seem to realize that.

Edited that for you.

I think Cunha is better than the opportunities he had under Simeone though, who is very limited in the type of forwards that work for him.

Think it's obligation to buy tho

No, just option.
Atletico is basically trying to get rid of him and banking on him doing well in EPL to fool someone to buy him.
They are currently trying to do the same for Felix btw, offering him to EPL clubs for 6 months loan for 8M

I think it becomes permanent if Wolves stay up.

"The deal includes an obligation to buy at the end of the season for a fee that could rise to ?35m.
The Brazilian international flew to the UK and completed his medical earlier in the week, finalising a loan move which will automatically become a permanent deal until 2027, should certain clauses be triggered."
