Daniel Alves

He looked quite decent on the ball, hasn't lost his technique, or understanding for the game.

That said, nobody can fight father time, he has lost acceleration and pace, and if he is to be a starter, sacrifices has to be made.

Yeah, we should "sacrifice" Busi and Pique to play him.

This are bit underwhelming options btw.
Mazraoui is solid, but he is just that. Nothing special and no big potential there at all. Dest has higher ceiling than him but we gave up on his development anyway.
Azpi is a stop gap.

Don't disagree but would stil prefer Mazraoui and Azpi over any combination involving a 39 yo (next season) Alves, Mingueza and Roberto at the position.

We should obviously continue to scout market for younger RBs if Mazraoui won't turn out good enough (and given our history with RBs lately he probably won't) but in current situation that's probably as good as we can do.

How many players would have let that ball bounce and the moment would be gone. He knew by hitting that overhead kick it would keep the vibe alive and it did. Extremely smart player with that split second untuition what you need

commentator on my domestic tv said he totally missed bycicle kick while it was obvious he was intending to play the ball back, great assist

Sad day when 38 year old Alves could arguably be the MOTM in 2022 on your team. Who would've thought we would be here in 2016 when many people were already complaining that it was time to move on from him?

He had a terrible game IMO, basically non-existent in either defense or attack
Lucky to had that unintended bicycle kick that made him get assist, because otherwise he would be 2nd worst in the team
