It depends on whether you're willing to bet that Bartra will hold his own alongside Mathieu or not, because he already improves us arieally, something that Masch can never do unfortunately.

I personally thing Masch should be in midfield and the starting CB partnership should be Ginger/Bartra, he just works better when he's not the last wall of defense but instead the second to last so even if he messes up the things he'd usually do if done in midfield like rush out and get turned...

When he's in his actual position playmaking he's been great, with Busi/Xavi/Iniesta next to him his pitfalls in his short passing game are made up for. Lucho just needs to figure out what to do with the RW, as of the last couple games whenever Suarez is on Messi becomes RW and it seems to work...

In an ideal situation they wouldn't, but if OT were to be bought for instance. In a team with Busquets and Mascherano already in it, he and Samper will probably both be vying for the CM spot, samper would be a pirlo type player in that case while OT would be more xavi-esque.

I dont agree that OT has more potential than Samper, Samper can do everything OT can do plus is taller and better defensively.

Hope he comes back like his old self like he did at the tail end of last season, when on form he brings a certain stablility to our midfield even when rakitic is on the wing.

Well ive seen him use it recently but his playstyle is just different, it looks like hes going to be on the wing now so you'll see it now, whenever hes on the wing (He doesnt cut inside as much now because theres 10 defenders waiting for him) he'll run past 2 or 3 players before pulling the ball...

He's got that good boy, can't get a red card mentality, mascherano would've just taken him down probably.

Sad because even though he may not have been the next messi both he and Giovanni have bundles of talent (Giovanni even more so as you can see everytime he plays in the worldcup) its sad but hopefully they can have their primes at a top club.

Or just play him at RW since we've pretty much found out that not having a proper RW basically destroys our midfield play.

He runs fast when he really wants to, i think its a mental thing, cause in the world cup he was sprinting past players with ease, this season too, unless its the injury he had during the el classico thats causing this.
