Yeah mate I turned 42 earlier in the year. I know what you are saying - other than tiredness I do feel in fairly good shape for my age. I have a pretty bad back, but I still play plenty of football and try to get out walks etc. Gonna return to the gym if I can too. I have never been a partier...
Fair enough mate, and I completely respect that. Hope you enjoy the games tonight anyway.
Lol I won't ask your age, I have seen a few jokes about it on here though.
It is hard to stay up to watch those games. I have been waking up early and my eyes have been shutting during the Euros 8 o clock...
Cheers mate
Yeah 5 pm here (I guess you are in mainland Europe, are you actually Portuguese? Sorry if you don't wanna divulge too much personal info). But it doesn't bother me as I will be able to watch it and England-Slovenia after it anyway.
It's kinda annoying that I have paid a one-off one...
Well, they're all but guaranteed to be a best third place team, unless they lose by like five goals - they are already above Croatia and their goal difference is four better than Hungary's while tied on points. That also doesn't take into account that groups C, E or F could still have a worse...
Really? I am surprised you think that. I think Netherlands might have an issue with Austria's energy and pressing.
I could be totally wrong of course - you might be right and Holland could have a comfortable 2-0 win. But going into the game I am surprised you are writing off Austria. What makes...
Yeah I was thinking it could be England-Austria (though I wouldn't be surprised to see Austria beat Netherlands). If it is that fixture could see England struggling with Austria's high energy, given how sluggish England often look.
Looking at the combos, I think Spain will definitely play...
So, according to wikipedia (yes I know) there are 6 possible third-place combinations left of 15. 4 of those 6 have Portugal facing Hungary. One other combo they'd play Croatia, and it's the only combo Croatia can go through (if groups C and F miss out). The final combo would be third from Group...
Yeah. Croatia had a brilliant generation in 1996-2000 too when they had guys like Suker, Boksic, Prosinecki, Jarni, Asanovic, Bilic and so on. For such a small country to then produce an even better generation 15-20 years later is special.
Not sure I will be able to stay awake for these, but Colombia-Paraguay looks a good game on paper - always liked both teams.
I am gonna say 2-1 Colombia and 2-0 Brazil.
Yeah you make good points. I guess the same is true of small clubs and big clubs at club level too. It leans too far into conspiracy for me - it's more human nature to favour the more glamorous factor I'd say.
Denmark - if they lose - would need to lose by about three goals too, and with a 3-0 rather than a 4-1 to Serbia, as Croatia have scored more. Not happening.
It did seem odd. Most stoppage time in this tournament has been three or four minutes in the second half. Like you say the second half didn't have many stoppages. Maybe the penalty check?
Yeah I know, I just meant when he played here.
But yeah, guys such as him are a danger to their opponents. He's always diving in studs up. To be fair with this challenge he was trying to prevent a certain goal but was still over the top and way too reckless.
I am gonna go:
Albania 0-2 Spain (though I hope Albania do it). Joselu first scorer
Croatia 1-2 Italy. Barella first scorer. It's hard to predict though.
Meant to say - if you think that is stupid, wait til the World Cup in two years - 12 groups, then a round of 32 with 16 games, and 8 qualifiers from 12 in third place. A tournament double the size and with far more head-scratching third place permutations than even this. You'll know what I mean...
