    10 - Lamine Yamal

With his talent pool he needs to be versatile with regards to where he operates. I'd imagine any ambitious coach would try this. Good start in this position, he created quite a few good chances in transitions and linked up well by and large. Liked his pressing too. Don't think it needs to be...

    20 - Dani Olmo

Still too soon to conclude he's back to his best, but this is promising.
  3. Obiaseti

    11 - Raphinha

Needed this so badly. He is crucial to Flick's system. Pedri back + no more injuries to the core hopefully (fingers crossed).
  4. Obiaseti

    18 - Gerard Maldini

Knowing the limits of your own abilities is an extremely important trait, particularly for a defender. This is something Balde can learn from him. Always liked his work ethic and commitment.
  5. Obiaseti

    Hans-Dieter Flick

His stubbornness is going to lead to our assets being devalued. His strategy worked last season because we had the element of surprise, we had good luck with injuries, starting 11 was in form and we had inigo. None of those is true this season. Kind of feel bad for our defenders because they are...

    CL game 5: Chelsea - Barca 3-0

High line is designed to leverage a strong attack. We just don't have a strong attack outside the starting 11 all fit and in form. It's clear as day that it benefits our opponents more than us for our current state. Attackers need to be good enough and sharp enough to deserve this strategy...
  7. Obiaseti

    10 - Lamine Yamal

It's good if he's pumped up and motivated. Not the worst thing if he ties his ego to his results on the field. Better than slacking off and being disconnected like Hazard, Bale or Neymar. Yeah it's gonna backfire every so often but ultimately for Barca, a wounded ego and an urge to prove a point...
  8. Obiaseti

    Hans-Dieter Flick

With the trade offs he's making our attack should be a lot sharper and more fluid which we clearly are not with personnel changing so often. Not entirely his fault but it's what we've been dealt. This is compounded by a clear increase in unforced errors and turnovers by individuals all over...
  9. Obiaseti

    14 - Marcus Rashford

He does the basics mostly alright, generates a few good chances and largely takes good shots. His link up and reading of his team mates is where he can still improve. A lot of 1-2 attempts that didn't quite pan out. Balls to Balde too wayward. This is where Flick needs to spin his magic. If he...
  10. Obiaseti

    3 - Alejandro Balde

He had a great run but still hasn't found his form. Hard to justify his selection over Gerard when he isn't having a big impact offensively either.
  11. Obiaseti

    10 - Lamine Yamal

He did create some danger through his passes but his dribbling was not as sharp and it showed. His danger without passing options gets diminished sharply and for better or worse he seems to show better chance creation with Raphinha and Lewa on. Mentally good lesson to have a few failures, only...
  12. Obiaseti

    11 - Raphinha

We need him badly. Rashford is actually pretty great but seems like Lamine drops a level without Raphinha/Lewa playing.
  13. Obiaseti

    25 - Wojciech Szczęsny

Delivered with the save. Can't ask for much more for his age.
  14. Obiaseti

    16 - Fermín López

Took his chance well but seems better when he has less time. Horrible and greedy decision at the end to not pass.
  15. Obiaseti

    16 - Fermín López

Absolute killer. Unique profile and has that rare gift for finishing chances and scoring goals.
  16. Obiaseti

    28 - Roony Bardghji

It really shouldn't be falling on him to be flawless.
  17. Obiaseti

    Hans-Dieter Flick

He's bogged down by the squad and injuries. 2 of the goals came right at the end after we got demoralized by the misses and threw everything at it. Normally we should have won this 3-2 if we took our chances and we wouldn't have needed to play suicidal.
  18. Obiaseti

    4 - Ronald McDonald Araújo

Yeah, but he would have suffered against the press. You get both the good and the bad with him. Second half we were anyway unable to get the ball out so might as well have thrown him in I guess...
  19. Obiaseti

    Hans-Dieter Flick

Raphinha was definitely missed. His pressing compared to Rashford is a huge upgrade. Rashford wasn't bad but Raphinha would have offered more in my opinion and would have raised everyones level higher. He was sorely missed today.
  20. Obiaseti

    CL: Barca - PSG 1-2

Silver linings. This happened early in the season. A good stress test; limitations and cracks are clear enough to be identified and addressed. With the new UCL format not as big a set back ultimately.
