    Mavericky Puig

Thought he was pretty good in context. Was the only one creating momentum, pushing Betis back. Gave the ball away a few times but so did everyone else. Pedri certainly wasn't any better when he came on and he had the luxury of playing alongside Messi and De Jong in build up.

La Liga | Round 22: Betis - FC Barcelona 2-3

    Pjanic is fucking horrible

He's got quick feet but yeah for tonight it's hard to look past that one miss where he could have passed it to Messi. Sure, the defender was there, but there was loads of space to take a tactical touch opening up a better path for the pass.

Better than Pedri today for what it's worth. I will take the player that offers himself in difficult situations yet fails over the player that doesn't offer himself and therefore doesn't give the ball away.

Copa 1/8 Final: Rayo Vallecano - FC Barcelona 1-2

There were two very nice moments where he basically received it in his own half with his back to the goal and turned it into an attack with one-twos, quick passing and running into space. He adds a lot of verticality that way.

Firpo is very bad on the ball

'Modern football' is a reference to the generally heightened level of coherence and tactical discipline of defences. Against an ordinary opponent, 10 years ago, you had time and space that you won't find now. 20 years ago was a different game altogether. When Laudrup or Zidane waltzed around...

    8 - Pedri

He's a bit too modest for me. Like he sometimes carry reservations about commiting to the opportunity as it opens up. "Moderate" or "sensible" attacking won't get you far in modern football. If you think twice, the chance is already over. You can move it around with very clever and sensible...

La Liga | Round 20: Elche - FC Barcelona 0-2

Would much rather see Konrad - Griezmann - Dembele than this. Neither Braithwaite or Griezmann can create anything out wide.

Spanish Super Cup Final: FC Barcelona - Athletic Bilbao 2-3

It looks like there plenty of space a lot of places. We're just nervous and scared, playing non-committal football.

Spanish Super Cup Final: FC Barcelona - Athletic Bilbao 2-3

We lack so much hustle and smarts. Alba, Dembele and Lenglet unacceptable.

Can we get Pedri the fuck off and get Puig in? The kid is not ready. He's literally shying away from tackles.

leaving his hotel room to bang in goals yes

    8 - Pedri

fine general play but his creative output tends towards zero too often. i don't dislike him but maybe some fans are too imbibed on his sexy movements to fairly judge what actually develops from his actions?

    Miralem Pjanic

That situation with Januzaj was embarrassing. You can't have a player that slow play in important matches. Nearly cost the game in a situation any midfield should be able to handle easily.

    Lionel Messi - v7

Sounds like overloading. Really really really think he should be rested. Hamstring doesn't fuck around and it doesn't go away without rest.

    Lionel Messi - v7

bit odd that noone's mentioned what the injury in question is? or has it?

    Mavericky Puig

Often looks like the only one who really understands what it takes to break through these solid defences or maybe just the only one with the guts to try and do it. Maybe they don't always work out but you NEED those quick first time passes and unexpected moves. Rest of the team seem to think...

    Ousmane Dembélé

still just 23. realized i had lost sense of how old he was and defaulted to 25 but was happily surprised.
