Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

Yeah it maybe sounds childish but I have long been a big fan of the Turtles, DC, Marvel, independent comics like Invincible etc.

And I guess Messi is Splinter then. The wise old sage master ready to let his boys fly free independent of him soon (though in the comics he sends them on a revenge mission against Shredder lol).

They've mastered the art of being aggressive but not TOO aggressive lol.

Yeah that would probably work out better. Paredes has lost his temper at times but he has a quietness and seriousness about him that suits Leo. The biggest leader of the four would be Leo too. Mikey could be De Paul for sure. As you say De Paul seems like a jokester.

Yes. Pacifist and thoughtful and intelligent. Paredes and De Paul...neither of them fit Mikey or Leo. There's too many hotheads in the Argentinean team for this

    Euro 2024

Chiellini giving out the trophy does feel like it was trolling them.

Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

I watched it again two or three years ago and I remember him having an influence on the game. I am not bothered about the penalty as I am not someone who thinks someone played well just cos they got a goal. However, it was a few years ago, so I will take your word for it as I would have to...

They need Harry Potter, not Graham.

    Copa América 2024

Rodri surely deserved it more than Haaland in 2023. Either way, even if Haaland did score a lot of goals, I just can't get over the fact that people wanted to give a techniqueless, clumsy oaf like Erling Haaland an award for footballing excellence - over a genius like Lionel Messi. Even if he...

Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

To be fair, he was superb in the final and the clear main man to Henry's second fiddle that night. UNTIL the headbutt.

    Argentina

In all seriousness, a 48 team tournament has never been done before in football, I am pretty sure. How will they handle it logistically? The fixtures are laid out but the practicalities. And will fans grow tired of so many games over such a long span? 72 group games to get rid of a third of the...

Nightmares if everything you say about the USA' security etc is true. And if the Copa is a precursor lol.

As someone who has always liked the TMNT, Alvarez is Raphael there. Raph is the angry turtle and ironically Alvarez is probably by far the calmest of those four, lol.

    Jude Bellingham

It looks like he and Foden don't pass to each other. They don't appear to have get on. Just a hunch though.

Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

I hate getting into arguments about Ronaldo. The reason is, I feel the hype and worship around him is so great that it's taken as 'matter of fact' by some that he's a top 5 player of all time. Like social conditioning. To me this overlooks so many legends from the past, as if he should just...

Opinion: Mbappe isn't as talented as Zidane and Platini.. Statistically he can beat them, and he can win more. But he's not as good at football. I don't even consider this a controversial view.

Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

Yeah he's a bellend and it affects his standing. You know football well for sure - I have seen the same tendency - that French people especially and players in general rate Platini over Zidane. I'd probably agree, though Zidane was a childhood footballing idol of mine. Maybe more controversial...

Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

Cruyff of course could be considered for 1974. And Beckenbauer was top that year too. Gerd Muller is an underrated player as people think he was just a poacher when he actually had more to his game. None on Maradona or Messi level I'd say, but deserve recognition for what are said to be great...

Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

Forgot Zidane yeah. Yes 1998 he wasn't good except the final, I remember it well. He was sent off in the group stage and missed the Paraguay game in round of 16 where Blanc scored a golden goal. He was much better in 2006 though underwhelming in the group stage there too, but took right off in...
