    Xavi Hernández

The amount of injuries are also due to the type of games we create for ourselves. Instead of taking care of these ordinary games through sensible yet cynical attacking play, we do a whole lot of nothing and then have to overextend ourselves in the final stages to fight for a result. The best...

    Xavi Hernández

No shifts of play through the midfield. No qualified combinations in the final third. Not a single attempt at a through ball or a run to make it happen.

    Xavi Hernández

I don't know which was worse, our defensive or offensive performance. We seem to have lost the absolute basics of defensive awareness and disciplin. Covering spaces, tracking runs, coordinated pressing. They carved through us with the simplest of moves. With the ball we look lost as well. We...

word on the street is he can juggle the ball over 70 times in a row

    Messi best season with Barca

Three of his most prolific seasons (10/11, 14/15, 18/19) came after failed WC campaigns. Always been interesting to me.

    Ansu Fati (loaned to Monaco)

I don't think you can say that it's unfair if the result contradicts the xG. It's still up to the team to score the chances they create. It's possible that Villa were lucky against Brighton but xG alone won't definitively tell us that, as it would still possible that all Villa's goals were...

    10 - Lamine Yamal

Experienced players are right to get angry when youngsters take a shot at goal? That's fucking stupid. Young creative players should be encouraged to play on instinct without having to worry about upsetting seniors. Unless there's an clear and obvious option for a better play, which there wasn't...

Lewandowski needs dial back his moaning when the kid takes a shot from a fair distance instead of crossing it to him. Don't want him to start second guessing his decisions, just go for it.

    Liga Round 8: Barca - Sevilla 1-0

Pedri is more talented but that doesn't mean he's the better player in every situation of the game. Fermin did a lot of good things today that Pedri wouldn't have done. I especially like that Fermin is more aggressive in his off the ball movement.

    İlkay Gündoğan

It's a hopelessly desolate position that second striker one. Too easy for the opponent to isolate and shut down. If we want our midfielders to create danger, they'd be better off dropping a bit and launching runs from deep. At least that's unpredictable.

    23 - Jules Kounde

He's not the quickest in general but the situation I'm referring to was a warm up issue. Guy looked like his hamstrings were about to give out trying to hit the gas.

    23 - Jules Kounde

Came close to giving away a third goal because he couldn't sprint after coming on. Embarassing stuff.

    İlkay Gündoğan

Weird role. Receives it in advanced positions and dribbles backwards. Not really a player who can do anything with his back to goal.

    Oriol Romeu

The criticism seems a bit exaggerated. Balde, Cancelo, Felix, Gundogan, Ferran have all been worse in my book.

    1 - Marc-Andre ter Ansplant

I'm a fan but both of those goals were his fault.

    Ansu Fati (loaned to Monaco)

Glad that he's getting minutes. Have to admit I thought he wouldn't even get in the team.

    17 - Marc Casadó

Is he still training with the first team? Might be an item in Frenkie's absence.

    La Liga 23/24

Real really missing a finer touch when Modric isn't there.

    La Liga 23/24

Can't help but think that Real look a lot more in sync and fluid and in their game than we do.

    Xavi Hernández

We lack a certain deciciveness before getting that first goal. A lot of perfunctory passing and half hearted runs. Just going through the motions without any real intent. When we crack through and get that confidence boost, suddenly things start to happen naturally.
