16 - Fermín López

Bang average in speed, thought and execution - this is a type of game where Gavis tenacity and gritt would be preferable over a slow Fermin (who is still Sonic compared to Olmo).

Gavi (in form) would wreak havoc against Newcastle, if they allowed a bit of roughness going into tackles.

I know he's in better form that olmo, but flick needs to know when to play fermin and when not to and even if he starts, when to sub him

It's probably a bit complicated by how hot and cold both of them are.

Just look at their threads in here and in the media too. When Olmo starts for a few games people are begging for Fermin and vice versa.

We should probably be worried about how both of them are simply unable and incapable of locking down the spot.

He had a good chance to score with his left foot, surei t's not an easy shot but in tough games you don't get many chances. He sometimes needs 3-4 chances in Liga before scoring, in CL away games he needs to be more decisive.

Tunkara will take it from them both hopefully

Several times mid attack he had to play a simple ball and just mishit or was caught out of balance. On that one good chance he also appeared out of balance.

All our technical ability is thrown out the window when we're forced to play fatigued like yesterday.

He gets frustrated easily. You can see it in his play, when he makes a mistake he starts to retaliate with fouls or gets really aggressive with the ball.

Like Gavi, his running pattern is quite weird, very short strides and all quads, he can be really slow in open field but good in small spaces because of that. At times, looked like he was struggling when he needed to carry in open space, and stumbled quite a lot when releasing the ball.

He is one who would vastly benefit from some examination of his movement patterns and optimisation of them. It's not always adjustable but often times especially in healthy athletes it should be.

Check the way he is running over long distances. Tiny strides, kind of running on his toes, quad heavy. It is really fatiguing to run in that way and I think it's a reason he stumbles a lot.

His value this summer will probably be at his career high. I like him, he's good but you can't be as inconsistent at Barca and he's not really at elite level that I would like to see from a Barca 10. Sure, he will score a banger against Sevilla but then won't appear for 2 games and repeat again. It's very likely we'll regret not selling him now in a few years.

Depends how much we could get, I'm not that convinced we would receive big money offers for him.

Would sell for 60-70m. I think the offers we would get will be around 30 or 40 max.

I usually pay attention to this but tbh haven't thought this about Fermin. He seems quite to enjoy running over distances which is a good sign.

But it is certainly the case with Gavi whose mechanics appear very blocked up. Happens when you optimize for movement over short distances with feet close to the ground ready for the ball. Then you get stuck in this form and lose the ability to open up your hips over longer distances.
