Cole Palmer

Goal King Cole finishes the year on a whopping 3 goals from open play.

And still somehow managed to get in the FIFA Team of the Year, despite him being underrated due to being English. :titi:

How long can he hide behind the ' playing out of position' or ' coming back from injury ' excuse despite the fact that Maresca said he is ready to play a full 90 minutes 2 games ago.

The stark reality is a slow, painful one to some. Read my lips. HE IS NOT THAT GUY.

I said the same about Jude when he was scoring every week in his first season and we all saw how that one turned out.

Hop aboard now, or in 6 months time, because hop on board you all will, eventually. :laporta2:

Nurse? Nurse! Someone has let him loose again!

He's definitely dropped a couple of levels. But he's played through injury all season and doesn't have the same confidence he was playing with last season. He hasn't suddenly become half the player he was.

He should have had surgery after the Club World Cup. I guess he didn't because he didn't want to miss most of the season and potentially this summer's World Cup. But unless his form picks up he won't be picked by Tuchel anyway.

He's just not very good. Many players burst on to the scene and can't handle the attention they then get on the pitch as a result.

Opposition managers then get used to their play styles and work out ways to stop them. It's up to the player to then go away and evolve his game. The problem with Palmer is his lack of pace AND strength will make that nigh on impossible. Happens all of the time.

Still no excuse to be misplacing 5 yard square passes constantly, like he was doing yesterday. :lamine:

It's funny seeing English pundits salivate over the potential of seeing Saka, Palmer and Gordon playing up top. Looks like they will be fighting Kane to take the penaldos because those 3 can't score from open play. :VdB:

Much more like his old self this evening. Crazy how much a team managed by Emery allowed so much space for the Chelsea attack though.

I still find it crazy that anyone would criticise a player so much that’s been playing through injury since the summer with an injury that was 50/50 in regards to needing surgery, on top of a broken toe he got later on in training. He’s a massive talent and just needs to find his confidence again and deal with the injury he sustained once and for all.

Two of those three scored from open play this evening. Keep talking, virgin boy.

Friend, I afforded you some mercy the other day when I posted here ignoring you, despite the fact that I could have goaded you, given that it is abundantly clear that I was right in our little debate about our friend Cole and you were wrong.

Scoring a fifth open play goal in the last 15 months is going to do very little to change that, to anybody here or beyond. Though, you attempting to do so, was rather amusingly predicted by @vegitot

It's unfortunate that you mistakenly took my compassion as a sign of weakness. :guitar:

Therefore, I am again, for your own good, asking you to put me on ignore. You do not have the emotional capability to be exposed to the truth about the overrated English shitters, that parts my pursed lips. :mina2:

My words are never designed to give pain to the reader, indeed quite the opposite. And so, despite your aggression shown to me, I will extend you even more compassion by advising you to block me.

Do not delay.

Do it now.

FOR YOUR OWN EMOTIONAL SAFETY :nuke:

You see barely anyone criticize him when he plays bad (mostly nowadays) but will praise him nonstop after one good game.
