Could be. I thought Balde, as limited as he is, would thrive with his pace and directness. Or Olmo with him relishing in chaotic mess.
One thing to consider: As much as he can frustrate, we don't see Lewa getting the ball much. Any #9 here would be under constant pressure to deliver and stay calm waiting for those rare moments and ride the bumps.
Tough position to fill. Way tougher than any place at the back.
Unfair comparison with Balde.
1 Osimen is a confirmed player in two europeen leagues and with his national team.
2 Osimen doesn't only have pace, he is very very physical (balde ?) And he embodies the idea of the 9 being the fist defender . He recuperates a lot of balls in the final third !
3 money ? Doesn't matter.. all other candidates are costly.
4 osimen fits well flicks ideology. He always prefers to have tall physical players in his team and u can see why he has a lot of faith in Bernal.
5 the elephant in the room. Osimen is mad. But so was Suarez when we signed him after the biting incident. It was a risk to take and it paid off ( at least for the intended years ). The striker is a critical position, perhaps after the biting barca were to look elsewhere if Suarez was just any other good player.
Time to take the risk again.
