14 - Marcus Rashford

Uhh why would anyone do this deal now at this stage of the season?

There's a full agreement to sign Marcus Rashford on a permanent deal! FC Barcelona will pay the €30m buy option and have agreed the conditions with the player. Financial Fair Play is the only stumbling block on a deal on hold until after the election campaign. [@totcosta]

I am ok with the instalment. Was hoping it would be a 5 year deal, but it is what it is.

But read on twitter that his salary is rumoured to be 12mil. Ya, I am not ok with that.
It has to be 10mil max, if its a 3 year installment plan. No ifs or buts. We can't and shouldn't pay more than 20mil in amortisation for Rashford.

A 5 year deal for a 30mil buyout, makes the amortisation around 18mil which is fair enough. 12mil a year salary is still palatable if so.
Its a no no, if we have to pay 10m a year to ManYoo and 12mil to Rashy. Hell Nahh.

Would rather go with Nusa then. His amortisation could cost less than 20mil or close to 22m.

It's BS, don't you know that Deco is on hollidays until July? :troll:

We just agreed a deal with his agent, there will be no negotiations with MU if we have decided to pay his clause.

Honestly I'm not a fan of this move and think we could spend 30m better.

3 installments of 10 million each spread across 3 seasons.

United wants 30m upfront, no installments. Not that it matters much, money is not a problem here, yearly costs will be divided by the length of his contract anyway.

5-year deal is too much for a player of his status. He can (and probably will) become a lazy bum again once he makes a permanent move and we'll be stuck with him forever. It's why I would prefer to stay away but looks like he convinced the club. Just hope we won't regret this in 12-18 months already. So I would rather take a few millions higher yearly costs on a shorter contract but this club's modus operandi is usually to push costs to the future when they won't be current board's problem anymore anyway so fully expect him to sign for 5 years and then hope some PL or SA team will take him of our hands for not too high loss before he becomes a total dead weight.

Also, you are mixing up installments and amortisation costs. First term is just a cash flow between the clubs (not something we usually have problems with) while second serves for accountant/FFP purposes.

For example we could pay United 10m in installments but if Rashy gets a 5-year contract then his amortisation costs per season would be 6m and not 10m. Ofc we then also have to add his salary to see how much he'll really cost the club per season.

He is worth the 30m in isolation and brings pace/ball striking that no one else does.

The issue is more what that 30m is at expense of really.

Also maybe a bit of insurance if Raph does have that 80m clause and head off to Saudi or elsewhere.

Would be a great singing. Its time to send Rapinha to Saudi for 80- 100m. Time to cash in before its too late.
Produced nothing this season, but hype is still there.

Don't forget to cry when we won't be able to register real players later in the transfer window because we blew all our limited funds on this bum. Idiots!
