7 - Ferran Torres

Why did you cite these statistics? Fans on this forum think Torres is the only one who misses big chances.
You shattered their illusions. Who will they blame for all the team's troubles now?
Missing big chances is actually one of Ferran's lesser problems as a footballer

His finishing has improved greatly over the last two seasons

It's in practically every other aspect of the game that he brings nothing. Hold up play, link up play, dribbling, heading game, workrate..

He's a very strange player. Nothing really stands out. He's neither a bonafide striker nor a great winger.

Looking at him initially, you'd think he's one of those vague modern forwards that can play across the frontline and have excellent technique and linkup play but don't have the goalscoring ability.

But he's a decent goalscorer with really weak linkup, zero holdup play and general involvement/presence in games. The only thing he's actually great at is movement off the ball.

He's just so underwhelming and boring.

He's just a horrible footballer benefiting off Barça inability to sign players and Flick super offensive system with world class creators in his team

When Flick is gone and especially when/if he leaves Barça I fully expect him to flop and surprise whatever team is crazy enough to get him how shit he is

Ferran did well at Valencia. Did well under Pep and done well for Spain.

He wont go and flop if/when leaves.

Teams also know what he is.. anyone scouting him is not missing anything Barca fans are seeing.

Ferran did well for Spain like he did well for Barça

Bunch of fluke goals created by WC footballers. Never stepped up when Spain really needed it

Did well under Pep? Did he?

That's a stretch. More like okay to decent as a squad player.

Pep actually liked him a lot initially. If he did that well, Pep wouldn't let him go.

City fans didn't give a flying fuck seeing him leave.

He did well under Pep and Pep rated him.

Nowhere near a flop and hasnt been at any club so far so expecting him to be when leaves Barca is unlikely.

By your logic Alvarez never did well at City as Pep let him go.. Pep tends to let players go if they want to unless maybe if a peak Haaland/Rodri type.

Yes he did well under Pep and has done well for Spain.

I wrote before his transfer he is a flop that Pep wants to get rid off. A nothing player really, of which Pep had like 50 in his City tenure. Buys them for fun and if they fail he moves them on.

He is a LL midtable player. A bum for a club of Barca's stature. But I'm fairly sure the drunken scotsman will tell you otherwise.

Ferran is what he is.

A fair weather player that's good to have in the squad for games where you're dominating.

A squad player/depth given the status of an important player due to the club not being able to spend more money than fucking Lyon.

Completely wrong.

Didnt flop at City and Pep wanted to keep him.

Again with the money? The guy was 50-60M FFS. I mean we could have really scouted for a more useful player than him.

He was the signing Xavi demanded. Was supposed to be one of the stars of his project.

Reason I'm talking about the money is because in a normal situation we would have been able to see he ain't what they thought he was and replace him or upgrade after a year or two.

Yeah, we would have done that in the Bartomeu days. But even so, what was Xavi thinking?

It's why you never let your manager handpick the players they want to sign.

Tunnel vision and favouritism/blind spot makes you miss out on some really good players that way.

For what its worth we were linked with both Julian Alvarez and Luis Diaz back then so one of these two, likely Diaz, would have been the player signed if they want in a different direction.
