Madrid just got burned by an idiotic tech chase. There's a reason Bugatti chose not to put super-high tech screens in their cars, and kept things classical.

Imagine thinking grass grows better underground, where sections are stacked one over another with some lamps over each section. Grass isn't supposed to thrive underground lol. They made so many decisions like that. Tackling issues that didn't actually exist, only to show off.

It's a pity, the rigid metal roof is beautiful, but the whole underground system is stupid (probably easier and far more convenient to just replace the pitch once a year if necessary, since big concerts are held in off-season anyway), the metal lamas look cold and soulless (looks like any random mall except it's bigger), the retractable roof is pretty much useless and the 360 degree screen is too intrusive.

The idea was to hold concerts on regular basis without impacting the turf. They say the switch between turf and arena floor could happen in 30 minutes.

The moronic part is the grass as a plant needs open air to absorb the carbon dioxide. This is qiute limited underground at minus 2-3-4-5 tiers below. The club says there's state of the art CO2 system installed, but apparently it's not enough.

Delayed again, when we spoke about how the Madrid City council handles things for Madrid vs Barcelona City council.

The usual laporta no boys, spoke there usual crap.

City council drags their feet on every little issue.

Usual nonsense.

You lot believe anything fed.. like the 1m a day.

Keep thinking the fire dept, police and those assessing the stadium are reporting it is good to go but the dastardly head of council are ignoring it and not signing it off.

No one says anything.. no one passing it as safe comes out to say it... for 'reasons'.

Believe anything.

The example of 'Madrid Council' was utter nonsense as pointed out at time.

Laugh emoji below if Jamrock has no clue as per usual.

So why don't they leave the grass on the pitch and the roof opened except those few hours during the concerts? A couple of hours underground shouldn't make that much difference or does it?

Always thought the roof and this grass inovation was meaningless in Spain. Glad our club didn't go that way.

Mayor is a perico and they hate Laporta for picking a Turkish company. That's more than enough reasons for corrupt politicians to behave like this.

Just nonsense and the Mayor is not making decisions on the safety of the stadium.

Usual folk lapping up the usual nonsense.

My guess - greed. Camp Nou can host concerts in the June-July time frame, Bernabeu could all year long. But they can't currently as residents are suing.

Update

1 license of 60 k gets delayed again by city council

2 Third and the final phase of underground parking has started (excavations )

3 Palau blaugrana (arena) which is part of the barca espai project had a final design validated. Financing will depend on the stadium + diamonds + parking budget leftovers + financing by Goldman Sachs.

4 The compression ring (roof support ) consists of 46 pillars.. the way i see it those workers took on average more than a week for each one of the first 4 pillars .. if that's the real pace, with holidays and games being played in C.N, this shit could take a year at least to finish that ring.

Thank me later

Nobody approached the situation with the idea "hey grass grows better underground, so lets do it". The point is the capacity to customize the area for other sports / venues and to do it fast.

Oh my. The grass master. Large building -> obstructing air flow ( also issues with temperature ) and light exposure -> need for technology to solve that. Less air movement and sun exposure on the grass, more tech you need. Large stadium grass issues 101.

The system is great, after you go through substantial learning curve considering this aint a 2m2 grow tent. Retractable roof and 360 degree screen is massive added value to have. And lets face it, you would also have done it if you had the capacity for it.

So, the only thing sound you have said, is exterior aesthetic. It sucks. As most modern buildings do. In that regard, Camp Nou should be much better.

The stadium is shit.

The only positive about it is the roof.

The pitch sucks
The seats are crapped
The 360 screen is 4 TVs attached by a long billboard, not what was advertised and nothing like they do in America, which was what was promised.
It can't keep the noise in
And the exterior design is awful.

Deluded lol
Barca is building a mini barca city , possibly the first of its kind in world football because it owns massive space around C.N (Manchester united has similar ambition but it will never be realized in real life because they dont even own a fucking land to begin with lmao). The five diamonds around the four corners alone is a novelty both in terms of practicality and aesthetics. The palau arena is also nearby which means basket ball + handball fans could literally walk the street to the C.N and its facilities and vice versa.

The 360 degree screen WAS something .. in no time it will be something rudimentary for new stadiums (including C.N because there is already talks about doing it instead of the massive three screens ). And if u ask me I would rather have a huge screen to watch replays than a fucking screen band that shows Coca-Cola ads.

Retractable roof has no real added value.. a regular roof can protect fans from rain.
The only.. the only thing tuna can has over barca stadium will be the possibility of organizing concerts all year and that didnt even go well so far lmao..
