He's a weird one. I have been critical of him too.

He has a lot of ability but is clearly never gonna be as good as Salah, or close. Though that's a harsh benchmark to judge anyone by. But their fans are constantly comparing him to players like that.

He has a lot of talent, but as Tempt says he seems a sort of programmed player. Not really anything off the cuff; he gets the ball on the right, comes inside, links up neatly or shoots. He follows instructions well and is very diligent usually in his defensive work.

In many ways he is a manager's dream. However, if you need someone to produce something crazy to get you back into a game, he normally won't be that sort of player.

I don't wanna make it sound like I don't rate him, though. I do. He's a quality player. Just, as you all are saying, fairly overrated given his reputation.
