La Liga wasted a decade of having two best players and two best teams in the world when they should capitalize on that and bring a lot more money to increase competitivness of the whole league.

They are dead now.

LaLiga used to be as competent yes. Now they don't have money to compete.

This is my post:
Post in thread 'Premier League 25/26'

Don't think LaLiga is any behind.

It's still the most competitive league. And it's also performing well and at par with EPL in Europe.

Lucas Paqueta to Flamengo for 42M, smashing previous record in Brazilian league, that was 27M. That is a 155% of previous record.

He is 28, so, this isn't a deal like Roque when you expect to sell him in a couple of years and recoup the money

Jeremy Jacquet to Liverpool from summer.

Good for Liverpool, he fits the EPL profile of "tall & athletic" and he is very talented.

Smart from him to choose them over Chelsea.

Honestly, I don't get why Chelsea wants another CB.

They already have Sarr coming back from Strausbourg while Anselmino is going the other way.

Chelsea fans don't rate almost any CB they have, it seems unanimous opinion among their fans that it is the worst area in the squad. They need more than one CB.

It doesn't seem they rate Anse that high btw. A reason he was called back was BVB tipping him and saying they will buy him, trying to make the player help in that. Chelsea felt it was inappropriate and called off the loan.

Chelsea has yon of talents, however they are a mess all around and their project isn't something I would feel confident at. It should be avoided by young talented players that have other comparable alternatives (I understand financial side is decisive)

We talk about getting the next big thing in CB or an upcoming player from France, but this deal summarizes how difficult that is now.

60m GBP for a 20 year old player with barely a full season of top flight football.

We couldn't even do this kind of deal in our peak spending.

So Liverpool will have two promising CBs for the combined fee of 100m. Two players that so far have proven nothing with one being out due to ACL.

We can't compete with those fees.
