BREAKING: The court has formally rejected Real Madrid’s request to obtain access to FC Barcelona’s financial records from 2003 to 2021 in connection with the Negreira case. The application, submitted by Real Madrid’s legal representative Mr. Molina, sought full disclosure of audits, forensic reports, and more than 600 related documents.
In a decisive move to safeguard the club’s institutional and corporate confidentiality, former FC Barcelona president Josep Bartomeu, who is a defendant in the proceedings, formally petitioned the Barcelona Court two weeks ago to deny the request. He argued that the demand constituted an unjustified intrusion into the club’s protected records.
The court has now ruled in favor of Bartomeu’s position, recognizing the legitimacy of his defense and upholding Barcelona’s right to corporate privacy. His intervention proved central in securing the decision, positioning him as the principal defender of the club’s legal and institutional interests in this phase of the case.
