At this point it has become a thing that he will play in all games. Watch him get subbed on late in games where he is supposed to rest, even if he isn't needed.

I don't think playing fullback is really a role he should play unless there is no other choice. He doesn't really make those runs to support attacks like many of the elite fullbacks do, or even the likes of Kounde or Balde. I think those runs are necessary for fullbacks in our system.

I noticed same.

He is really decent at CB and CDM, on RB he is not what we need.

Flick wanted to keep the balance of a more dynamic LB paired with a defensive RB.

Eric should focus on just CB/DM now when we have Cancelo.

If Kounde is injured I'd still play Eric at RB in a big CL match but for LL it should be Cancelo who is Kounde's backup.

The 5th captain now.. in reality 4th with no MATS. Ferran next after that.

Lewa on way out or players just dont think of him as capt material at all.

The kind of player you absolutely need to win big titles. Consistent, reliable, humble, clutch, will give everything on the pitch, captain material

It's struggle that shapes excellence. This guy struggled a lot at the beginning but it made him a top top footballer

If LDF is smart he takes him to the world cup as well
