He wasn't bad and wasn't good, not much to make of his performance

But had some good crosses and on Fermin's 2nd goal the pass to Pedri was great, you gotta love it when he plays like a la masia graduate

Not great.

The pitch looked like got to Roony, Raphinha and Pedri in particular.

Frenkie, Olmo and Rashford dealt with it a lot better.

Happens and when they play at Camp Nou at weekend the players will feel like smoothese surface known to an after that.

Roony wasn't good and played in safe mode last night. Doesn't have the confidence, which is normal for a young outsider in his debut season. I trust Flick's handling of him, there will be more ups and downs for sure.

A good measure of natural dribbling talent is looking at how close to his opponents a player is comfortable moving with the ball.

Yamal is practically within breathing distance of his defender when he makes his moves. He wants to get this close because it tightens the margins, allows less reaction time, lets him punish the tiniest missteps. Similar to Messi, Neymar, Iniesta, Hazard. Keeping possession in these spaces requires a sense for movement that goes all the down to timing of steps, balance, weight distribution etc.

In this regard Roony is a few levels below. Stays much more on the outside, in safe distance from the defender until he makes his move. Can still get past them if he times it right but a different type of dribbler imo. If he had speed as an asset he could be very interesting. I like the kid but as he is I'm not sure he offers enough for top level.
