Imagine having a basically unlimited budget and spending hundreds of millions, only to spend the majority of the game defending deep in your own half against a financially broken rival.

That, in itself, is the biggest win and it is something that is not highlighted nearly enough by the media or by fans.

As for our team, I think we are close to our ceiling. We are probably one world class CB away from being able to achieve something in the Champions League.
If Madrid had better finishing game could have ended with them winning. Our defense lets în chances galore, against any team. If the attack isn't there to bail you out, it's curtains in a KO game.

Yeah, they are scared. I understand during Mourinho era, there was simply no chance to outplay that Barca, so smash and grab was a valid approach. But now against a Barca with 4 Getafe level defenders at the back? Embarrassing. We had 75 % possession in the first half.

It's true we are carried by our attack but I'd argue our attack was just as unfortunate in scoring as Real was yesterday.

People say Real would have scored 2 more goals on a normal day on the chances they got, but so would have we. I mean Raphinha fumbled his chance just before his first goal, Lamine deflected a fast ball in close range straight at Courtois, Rashford had his chance at the end to kill the game.

I have seen people from Real saying they played good but I'm not buying that lol. They run a budget multiple times bigger than us and they were still forced to park the bus against us like a second division team. We were never as shit in the first clasico as they were yesterday and oh boy did we do bad at that first game.

Without Frenkie's dumb red card I doubt they would have even gotten their chances at the end.

You're still neglecting the obvious, you're not gonna outscore everyone because truth be told our attack is not that good. We don't make the top three in this season's CL from an attacking perspective.

So we go back to our defense, which is a shambles.

Just stop . Your material was much better in the Joan Garcia thread. You know the ' lucky, shots straight at him bum, that nobody wanted in the summer. '

Drop a nugget of comedy gold over in that thread.

We've waited long enough.

@malvolio Serious question now are you a Barça fan?

Like do you feel anyhow connected to this current team and any of its players? Do you experience any form of joy when Barça score, when Barça win?

I ask this because I find it puzzling why would someone pretend to be a Barça fan on a Barcaforum. And especially this forum where even those who openly expressed they hate the club didn't get banned or anything

There is possibility of trolling. But then you are posting for a decent amount of time. It would take some serious levels of joblessness to go on with trolling for multiple years

I've heard of everything but I've never heard of a person pretending to be a fan of the team whose forum they were on.

You don't need a degree in psychology to figure him out. Probability that Barca wins CL is rather low. According to bookies around 10 % right now with 4 teams more likely to win it (Arsenal, Bayern, PSG, Man City). So shittalking the team in a fan forum full of supporters who hope otherwise is a form of hedging happiness. Either his team wins and he's happy. Or, much more likely, his team doesn't win but then he at least "wins" the Internet argument against fellow supporters because he was sooo clever to predict the right outcome in the first place while everyone else was so dumb to believe in a win. So he "wins" either way.

100 % a loser in real life anyhow. No one with a happy balanced life consistently shittalks and downplays the sports team that he supposedly supports only to be proven right in case they don't win it all. If that's the success that you need in your life your real life is 100 % cooked.

Nice one from Carvajal to give some words to Araujo.

Even if i don't like them both.

This match was weird. Even if we won, madrid were clinical most of the match and our defense were shit. We should have scored more goal to be safe from the remontada or at least maintain a scoreline . The Last 10 minutes from us where atrocious. They could have egalize. I'm still mad about the two clear occasion for madrid in the last minutes. So i'm happy for the trophy but not completly about the match.

Also, now i don't feel confident about the CL with this squad. And even against a piss poor Madrid for the rest of the season.

We should imperatively improve the defense.
