@Total-Football @khaled_a_d A month and 2 weeks until the AFCON starts in Morocco. What are your predictions for the tournament and do you think Morocco can actually take advantage of their talent and win it at home. I think Tunisia will do decently in group stage 2 wins and a draw to Nigeria, and go out in the quarters/semis to Mali, Burkina Faso and South Africa as usual…

Honestly, no idea.
Morocco should be favourite, obviously, but it rarely works this way.
I think Senegal is right there too.

Morocco hosting the tournament and not having won the cup since 1976 will be huge in motivaton.

On another note it's disappointing to see Nigeria and Cameroon fighting for a single playoff spot that will lead them to another inter-continental playoff round for the World Cup.

Morocco definitely favorites. Home turf makes it even more so.. then u have the usual suspects.. egypt, nigeria, Senegal...
Any other team would be a surprise for me.. but there are almost always surprises in afcon. I think this is gonna be the one and Morocco will wint it.. what makes u think Tunisia will do decently lol.. there are no indicators of that , players wise, or team play wise.. well let's see.. good thing about afcon this time african players will play on great stadiums and will have the opportunity to display themselves well. Weather in December is perfect too here.

The great performance in the World Cup qualifiers with 9 wins and 1 draw where we scored 22 goals and conceded none. Now I know it’s kinda unfair to judge over that but I feel like there could be some hope we could do something more respectable than the disastrous performance in the previous AFCON.

I did my comprehensive predictions yesterday and I got Morocco as the winner, Egypt as the runner up, Senegal 3rd and South Africa 4th. Tunisia will go out in the quarter finals and Algeria as well. Anything related to top goal scorer or best player I can’t predict Icl, it’s very hard to determine.

Breaking News - CAF president, Patrick Motsepe, announced earlier today that the Africa Cup of Nations will switch from a 2 year system to a 4 year system, starting from
2028. So basically we will have AFCON in 2025, 2027 and then 2028, where it will coincide with the Euros and Copa America.

After truly understanding the bracket my top 4 now is -
1 is champion, 2 is runner up and 3rd is 3rd etc.
  1. Morocco 🇲🇦 (2nd title)
  2. Egypt 🇪🇬
  3. Algeria 🇩🇿
  4. Senegal 🇸🇳

Shit I hope other int tournaments don't follow

The thing that makes international tournaments so glorious is that players have few chances to win them in their career

Most top players take part in 3-4 world cups, euros, copas..And only maybe 2 are when they are in peak form and can carry the team on their own

And so players from same generation are faced with immense pressure to perform at given moments if they don't want to be outshined by rivals

If we start getting these every 2 years, then it will become a little bit like UCL

Yeah I agree, but for AFCON, for about 57 years, we always had AFCON every 2 years and in my honest opinion, this alongside the general unpredictability of it all made AFCON so special for us Africans. It’s a shame it went to 4 years but now maybe it gets better if it goes to 4 years. Only AFCON went for 2 years btw if you never knew.
