Bellingham would be great in Olmo's place for us, tbh. He fits your "physical" midfielder who supports our guys, while being fairly smart and talented in attacking spaces, improving as a passer slowly.

But their 2013-2018 can't be the standard tbf, just like our 08-15 can't remain our standards. And other than PSG there aren't many dominant teams out there, and if anything there is more "variety" in football. Pressing is one of the reasons for that, as many teams create physically monster teams but they are usually not very sustainable.

Madrid needs to live to the standard of current Bayern and Arsenal, they aren't that far off, and with even bigger star than those teams have.

Also, I agree with @fergus90 a bit, Madrid has been wasteful with many of their signings, more than they like to admit. Tchou especially hurts them the most, Endrick not giving attacking depth. In addition, they took a page from Barca book and are a bit too loyal to their guys now. Rodrygo should have been sold in summer of 2024 the moment Mbappe put his signature on that contract. They could have fooled someone into paying 100M+ for him and reinvested in defense and midfield.
Bellendingham is one of the most overrated players in the last decade , he wouldn't fit Barca style at all , he slows the game and cant pass for shit...he will end up playing for MANU or something...he is just not at the level to play in a top club like Madrid, Barca, Bayern, PSG etc.

Perez keeps attacking spanish football. This will surely help his club. Not to mention, that the topic comes up again when Barca leads the table, while Xabi is on the verge of getting sacked. The old man became more predictable than Vinicius behaviour.

Official Statement from the Spanish Football Referees' Association:

“The Spanish Football Referees' Association expresses its rejection of the public statements issued by the president of Real Madrid Club, due to the severe damage they represent to the reputation of the refereeing community.”

“Refereeing decisions cannot be used as an excuse to justify sporting results"

"In the 'Negreira case' no referee has been investigated or charged throughout the entire investigation.”

Late to the Celta-Madrid game because of the forum downtime.

That first goal by Swedberg (6:27)— wow wow WOW! That was sublime, one of the best finishes I've ever seen. Few players would think to attempt it, let alone execute it with such finesse. The kind of spontaneous ingenuity in the box we've seen from ingenious strikers like Ibra and Suarez. Has to be perfect with timing, first touch contact, and direction. And from a hard ball in the air, with a feint strike by his teammate in front of him. And with an element of feint/deception as well. Only 21. Going to have to keep an eye on this lad.

Whole move was class by Celta Vigo, starting with that smart penetrating reverse pass by Mingueza. Though, tbh, a fast throughball to (the well on-side and free) Borja Iglesias [#7] was probably the percentage play.

Swedberg's walk-in second goal was also excellent, so cool.

And Madrid falling apart with their temper tantrum card spree at the end. 😂 Mwah! Chef's kiss!
