Why damning?
Ferran Torres is in his prime age. He is a regular on the Spain NT. He had better show up in the critical games.
Benchmarking the current football format of 37 year old Lewandowski for players on his position at the highest football level is a bit misplaced and misunderstood.
It should go the other direction; Lewandowski at 37 can still exceed Torres and Haalland in this or that stat. Not the other way around.

The data spans from when Lewa was 34 (supposedly in his prime still coming off a good season at Bayern) up until his current age of 37.

A bit irrelevant when debate is not who was best in prime. It’s about who should be our first choice.
