He has done a good job and is mentally very strong the way he plays in top games.. for most part.

Above all it shows what a LCB that can pass ball out brings.

Inigo could and it helps massively.

Badly need to address that.

I think the Lenglet comparisons can be fitting. The question is, can he avoid the mental mistakes that eventually crippled Lenglet on the biggest stage when he is called upon? Time will tell, I guess.

If so, he can be very useful as an LCB, like Mathieu during the Lucho era.

As Jammy said, Martin is mentally strong. No matter what Barca forum or social media you're part of, Martin was crucified last season by fans everywhere.

This shift to LCB might be genius move by Flick or complete bust. Time will tell, so far it's promising.

It's genius move regardless

He managed to make a great squad player out of this guy. He now can be used at CB and LB

If he chokes in some big game which is very possible I hope people don't blame it on Flick for moving him to LCB. I don't think he would if he had other options

He's a serviceable backup. Useful for our team if we are looking at the LCB position.
LB is a no no. As the player he's a backup of is injury prone, and the LB position in our system is quite imp, where Martin doesnt have the required skill set to perform adequately.

Now if we are talking about the CB position. I honestly would take Martin over Araujo & Christensen even in the UCL Final.
Been saying this since Xavi days, we need players with Chutzpah, not mental midgets like these. Should have shipped him out after what happened with Gundo. And now we are seeing it.

Martin, with all his flaws, isn't a mental midget. Guy knows his shortcomings, and has improved and shown the world his resilience. Thats the chutzpah we need. Warrrior mentality.

Been saying this since Xavi days, we need to get rid of Mental Midgets from this team. Araujo, Christensen, Mats, Kounde, Olmo (now), Fati.
I used to put FDJ in this list, but he has shown improvements in his mentality.

I would rather have slightly less quality players, but warriors who would take their own leg off inorder to break the enemy, than mental midgets with WC talent but they crumble in UCL Quater finals. Been like this since the last decades. Humiliation after humiliation.

Wouldn't put Christensen in same bracket. He is a different type of mental midget. When he plays it's the CB I trust the most. His problem is more ahead of games whereas Araujo for example is the opposite.
