Not a good game, but fools writing him off too easily as usual. Between the rare missed pen, Oblak save, and teammates (Balde especially) ignoring runs, he could easily have had 2-3 on a different day.

Does he needs more rest? I mean yeah Hansi often subs him off around the 60th minute but even playing 60 minutes with CL and LL for a 39 years old guy is very very tough. Better if he rests completely in some games. We've seen vs Celta how good a fit and rested Lewy is.

Watching the goals Ferran scored v Bilbao or Raphinha scored last night... they can barely happen with Lewa.

Doesnt have the legs.

Barca have two of the best in world in Pedri and Yamal at finding those runs and it cuts off that option far too often if Lewa is the CF.

Particularly v good teams that push high and Barca are not going to dominate and push them back for 90 mins.

There's some nostalgia kicking in as his contract (and career) is winding down. But still... since Ferran is outscoring and running X times more, I don't see the point of starting him.

he has a role but not vs tough teams and not from the start. he is killing our game too much, limits options for running behind or central play, but brings aerial threat. so final minute subs when desperate is probably the way to go. not that ferran is all that, but surely is more suited to our game most times.
