Different coach and team set up... they failed to beat Japan, a poor Germany and Morocco.

Had better players than all of those.

It is a poor excuse and they had Nico, Ferran, Asensio, Mortata, Pino etc... more than good enough to do better against the teams they failed to beat.

Nothing is any one players fault but Gavi was awful v likes of Morocco having one of those games he doesnt even make 20 passes and was hauled off early.

Against Germany Gavi made 9 passes... 9.. with an terrible accuracy of 75%.

He was one of Spains worst players after Costa Rica game and looked lost.

'Bad luck' Lucho who decided to start Rodri at CB and Busi/Gavi in midfield? No. That was bad coaching.
