if martinez didnt get injured last season we might have offloaded him to Juventus.

But wouldnt be surprised if Juventus wasnt that interested in him at all.

He should be sat down in the club's offices and forced to watch a compilation of all his screw ups after which he should be told he doesn't have what it takes to make it here and that it's time to move on. We should start listening to offers as soon as the January transfer windows opens and ship him out at the first opportunity.

There was a point where he was demanded in the market but that has long passed, we have trusted him long enough that we have displayed his flaws to the world.

If I were a betting man, I would bet he will be loaned out until contract expiry. i.e. the Lenglet and Umtiti special.

The club has a knack for handing out incredible contracts to players who don't deserve it any having to loan them to the end.

We have this guy until 2031 lol!

Look at it like this: he's an employee and you can't replace him. What do you do? Throw him under the bus or try to get most of him until you're in position to hire better option.

Try to make him useful still is way better than discarding him altogether. Play him against Alaves, Copa matches, whatever.

Yes we are all for that. But it is inevitable that if he does really well coaches will give him a shot at something bigger, unless there is another player that is unequivocal starter ahead of him.

Maybe we had an option to sell him and get some one free or low cost ala Tah, Hincapie, Mosquera... but sadly we did not.

This thing with him has repeated to many times, we must move on with him.

Think his time here is done. Should not be a starter let alone captain this club.
