Xabi Alonso

I don't think it is about handling egos, it is more about the fact that he needs immediate results.

iirc, it has been very long time since a coach stayed after a season with no trophies. Perez beliefs if you don't win anything you leave for someone who can do it.

Alonso first season in both Sociedad B and Leverkusen was barely a success, but he was building foundations for great second season.

Madrid ain't giving him a year like that, and he needs to win some how, some way until players buys in his ideas fully.

There is no place for Arteta's type of bs in Madrid, you want to stay you need to deliver immediately. In that way Alonso was a bit of odd/risky hiring.

Then Alonso hiring made 0 sense according to this logic.
You don't hire a builder coach if you want immediate trophies

In any case, it doesn't make any sense dismissing him now.
He has vastly improved Madrid and gave them tactical identity compared to last season.

The real reason brewing behind these rumors is that some (spoiled and entitled divas) players do not like his methods/him making them work and prove themselves to play. You can guess who they are

Vini is nowhere near good enough to dictate who the coach is.

Good luck with next coach if go down that road.
As I said I doubt it's just Vini. Look at Elche's 2nd goal yasterday, it was a joke, zero effort from anybody to stop that from going in. Valverde looking at Alvaro and not even attempting to take the ball from him. Valverde who is known as a hard working player
