I don’t think I’ve seen a more retarded defense than this lmao!

Flick’s football isn’t doing them any favors but what a steaming pile of horse turd these defenders are.

Only at this club could letting a 33 year old CB (who was never even world class) leave to Arabia on a free cause a total defensively collapse across all fronts.

Fix it. Fucking Benny Hill defending.

No one is fixing it.

Worse case scenario.

You have a manager who has a philosophy of ultra attacking football and you have a bunch of retarded defenders who have no idea how to defend.

It’s not all Flick’s fault tho.

People have short memories here. These are the same defenders who drive Xavi to mental breakdowns on the sideline and he was more of a defensive minded manager than most.

Yes it’s easier to replace the coach than the entire defence, but it’s hilarious to think think that any other manager is going to give Araujo brain or make Kounde and Balde not control the ball like they have down syndrome.

Don't know about you guys, I respect this

People who say "he doesn't know anything else". Remember last season Supercopa final. Red Card for Tek and then we defended perfectly for like 30 minutes. Benfica away in UCL ro16. Early red for Cubarsi, defended properly whole game. But we were forced to

He's just a madman. He sticks to his philosophy and is not giving it up. Maybe for the better, we will see. I have not lost faith in us turning this season around

His CBs at the WC.

Isn't Nico Schlotterbeck there is a trend about us signing recently, because he's a missing link in the defense?.

It worked great for flick with Germany.

That's pretty much CB partnership of his dreams, big, fast, good passing, still didn't help lol

This season is already compromised. La liga and UCL are far from us. We should try to build a team for next season. Casado, fdj, Rashford, Lewanflopski, to name just few should leave. They should not make permanent Rashford, but , as things were happened in the past with the management of this team, I would not be surprised at all if they give him a lot of money and make him permanent…. It would be just in the nite of stupidity what happened to this team for years…

That's true. But our club not being able to acknowledge the importance of Inigo Martinez, his skills and leadership of the backline and let him walk to Saudi as easy as they did is the biggest culprit IMO. Still baffles me.

It's clear that Flick is an offensive minded coach. And if you have one, you need a strong leader of defense. Van Dijk was that with Klopp and Inigo was that with Flick last year. We let him walk and the level of the defense dropped so much, that Eric Fucking Garcia is one of the better CB's at the club.

The second thing that is also alarming is the workrate of front 4. There has been a massive gap between the two CM's and the attackers (including CAM), because none of them drop back to get the ball or help to defend. That's why we got shafted by otherwise (for their standard) a pretty bad RM midfield.

We need an experienced CB, who can lead the defense. If we can't get one in winter, this season is a write off.

Agreed.

I’ve been saying it since the summer that this season was gonna be a disaster.

Hilarious people were talking rubbish like we haves top 5 squad in Europe or that we were gonna compete for a treble lmao.

As usual, I’m right lmao.

People starting to realize that type of defence wont work in the long run
Would have gotten hanged for saying that here a year ago.

Also, our CB choices this season are:

Ronald "Athletic donkey" Araujo
Eric "Small man syndrome" Garcia
Pau "Greener than lettuce" Cubarsi
Andreas "Vermaelen reincarnated" Christensen

I hope this paints a picture how important Inigo Martinez was. Also, if it wasn't for Joan Garcia's early season heroics, we would be standing in even deeper shit. We need an experienced CB and a fullback this winter if we want to save this season.

According to Uefa, we ran 105 km today. In comparison, we ran 125 km in 90 min against Bayern last seaosn. It's not a tactical problem, but a physical one. WIthout intensity and running, you can't win. It's that simple. It's not about individual players or the tactic, it's about the physical state of the team. It's like night and day to last season.

How many teams can maintain that level of running & pressing over 2-3 seasons thought.

That's why Raphinha was/is key for this Barca.

Wanted to say we suffered from both Elche and now Brugges. And those teams played completely different football. That is also worrying.
