Today:

Deco: "We shouldn't be obsessed with signing a number 9. Perhaps you can do it without a 9. This isn't the time to talk about signings. Ferran can play as a 9. PSG won the Champions League without a 9. Talking about a '9' is a bit of a mistake."
Bruv you didn't quote the other thing he said, which was:

"PSG, the European champions, won the Champions League without a striker. Talking about a ‘9’ is a bit of a mistake, even though there are good players.”

Which means internally, they are thinking of it. Which also means:
Raphinha in the Dembele Role.

SSUUUUUUUUIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Now we're talking.

It will probably be a modest transfer window next summer again. Would be good if we could get an unexpected sale that brings good money. Barca don't really do those as every player is milked until value is low.

Olmo, Araujo and Raphinha are options, I would consider Gavi too for the right price. Raphinha especially if he cannot find his form from last year, stock should still be high and maybe we could get a massive Saudi bid.

Point is, a sacrifice will have to be made. Club needs to sell higher value players and not just B players and non-starters like Martin, Casado and Eric that would bring little money. Last time around it was Pau Victor, Valle and Torre. Before that biggest sale was 25m for Roque, rest were 5-10m.

Selling Raphinha is not an option. Regardless of his form, what he brings to the team goes beyond his footballing skills.

There are four untouchables: Raphinha, Yamal, Pedri, and Cubarsí. The rest are replaceable

Will be modest summer for sure. We're already been told renewals are signings and that keeping players is a win.

Elections will be held in April, I believe, so promises could made but not followed through in summer because what's wrong with another lie.
Also, Laporta knows lies win elections (Beckham!).

Barca is staying relevant though. Previous board left a solid squad and La Masia did their magic. Laporta also has a hand with Flick appointment, which was like hitting a jackpot.

Barca does deserve better presidents but also needs them if they are to keep up the pace.

Unknowledgeable and corrupt Bartomeu and lazy, lying, unprofessional and corrupt Laporta are unbecoming figureheads of one of the biggest brands in world sports.

You forgot Rosell.

We made signings every summer to address weaknesses in the team, this summer won't be any different

We made signings in the last 3 summers, but I still think we can safely call them modest.

I think we can all agree that this team needs another big summer if it has the ambition to meet it's potential.

At the very minimum we need an established CB, FB and a #9.

Then you also have to sort out what happens at LW if they let Rashford walk which is probably likely at his price.

Whether it happens in 2026 or not we'll see. The issue as always is the lost opportunities. If you cannot spend in 2026 then a good potentially available CB like Schlotterbeck might go elsewhere.

Just like this summer when so many strikers moved. I'm sure we would be interested in the likes of Gyokeres, Ekitike and Sesko. Now those are not an option anymore.

The lost opportunities is what hurts us the most because you want to spend money and bring in top players and those players might not be available a year or two later.

And we know very well from experience that spending money just for the sake of it bites us in the ass. It happened all the time under the former board.

Even in those modest summers we honestly address all the most critical areas, even if some were loans, with only 25m last summer we addressed the two most critical areas of the team

Big head I agree with you we need a 2022 summer to keep the fight alive, I'm Confident we will have one.

ST, CB, LB (depending on how jofre develops), keep rashford or make another signing at LW.
