Love a player who refuse to go down, or has the tenacity to get up and go for the ball.

That play in the box where he was taken down, but still tried to get up and go for the ball.
Love it. Messi like tenacity. He's gonna win Argentina another WC.

Would be so good to have players like these.
Would fit in this barca squad perfectly

Whould've been brilliant if stupid Barca scouts signed him instead of Roque, if not straight from Argentina at least after he showed his worth at City, now it seems way too late for this. ATM would ask a fortune for him.
Yer when it comes to buying players from lesser leagues there's two schools of thought - first is it's cheaper but a bigger risk before they've proved themselves at a mid-sized top 5 league club. Second is it's best to let them go to that mid-sized club but that drives up competition for their signature and hence price.

I am in the higher risk, higher reward camp. Plus some players just look a lock to be elite, and he was one of them.

Yeah, you could see from the Moon he was quite a special player even before being tested in Europe at City.

Couldn't say the same about Roque who looked as unimpressive as it gets his entire career.

I don't know anything about Roque to be honest as I don't follow Barca or La Liga closely (in case you don't know I like Barca but am not a fan, more of a guest on here).

But on Alvarez, he's clearly fantastic and always was. I prefer him to Haaland meself though I know most would disagree with me due to the sheer goalscoring prowess of the big man.

l also prefer him over Haaland who imo is not a big game player and lacks technique way too much for a Barcelona striker, wouldn't want him here as I didn't want Isak either, imo both of them are overrated, at least on this forum. I mean they are good but nowhere near enough for such a position at Barca.

I agree. I am a Haaland hater in a way, and was lamenting his all-round game long before Keane. However, to be fair to him, in recent weeks it has improved somewhat. Remains to be seen if he can maintain that, though.

Isak is a very good player but still has it all to prove at the elite level.

I prefer Alvarez over them both, definitely. But with the obsession with stats in modern football fans you know we will be called clueless for preferring Julian to Erling.

Yeah, sadly, Alvarez to Barcelona ship has long sailed and I don't see any real good options to replace Lewandowski in the summer either, not to mention the dire financial state of the club. They should've already adressed this issue long ago.

The financial state is the real problem. From my understanding it is dreadful. There's only so much La Masia can continue to do.

Barca are in a precarious position for the future for sure. I take no pleasure in saying that but it is true. They can still win trophies but when so many teams can easily outspend you on fees and wages it's hard to stay competitive (in Europe at least, they'll still be at least top 2 in Spain).
