I think against levante it was right to take him off, but yesterday he wasn't the problem, but he was the easiest player to replace and flick wanted to change something.

We would have won either way, but olmo was a bigger issue and to a lesser extended raphinha

He was doing nothing with ball and being left on it.

Was a non event and hurting Barca tactically.

Frenkie was levels above and needed for the win.

Can keep saying 'would have won anyway' in all these games Casado comes off and Barca turn it round.

Flick wanted to rest FDJ.. he clearly didnt think 'going to win anyway'

I actually would want him out there when we need a goal, push pedri up for olmo with how he was playing

Have de Jong and casado be double pivot, but you make a fair point

He was poor, and it's Pedri and Frenkie are the best double pivot we can play. Can see they completely trust eachother in the ball which makes things much easier. Can they do it against a midfield 3 supported by fullbacks if Olmo is drifting in lala land? That's another question.

Casado has a role but has kind of found a level. He wasn't good last night at all, and Flick don't want him out there at all when we need a goal.

He was fucking terrible last night.

Inept on ball and Oviedo left him open to recieve it at expense of Pedri. Other teams have done the same.

Even his 3 tackles were scrambling to get about more physical players and not really winning ball back.

Barca didnt regain possession on any of them.

Would have been moronic to push Pedri up and leave Casado on.

Tackling statistics are confusing sometimes. I remember at least one instance where he kinda fumbled the ball, but then made a good tackle to win the ball back. Without bad touch, no need to make the tackle. So this was a negative, even though stats will show positive.

That's how all statistics work I guess. They can be a bit misleading.

His tackling ability is good, yes, but too often he makes a mistake(too slow, too late, bad touch) which leads to that. Those he needs to eliminate and use the tackling ability when really needed, not only fixing his mistakes.

Casado is good when it comes to keeping a score or when the opposing team poses a big challenge to Barca's defense.

He is not good when it comes to showing creativity or when the team needs to score goals or against teams that play deep in their own half.

This match clearly showed that.
