Alvarez made the only sensible choice going to ATM.

No way he would have went to Liverpool from Man City directly.

The market for strikers is bad and Julian made the only sensible choice and strikers usually thrive in ATM.

I would still prefer taller striker, because it's going to be a big handicap vs some teams or when teams park the bus

We were pretty good before when we had small forwards during Pep era. If player is technically strong, his height should not be an eliminating factor. IMHO Alvarez would be a better fit for Barca than Haaland who is a much taller player. For example, with Haaland you gain strength and speed but you loose control and pressing. It would be ideal to have a fast, strong, tall an technically gifted No.9. However, I don't see a player like that on the market right now.

I think Yamal fits a tall striker much more than Messi did. Yamal crosses often, Messi didn't. I hope Yamal's and Barca's evolution makes him more similar to Messi/Ney where he'll go for one-twos with the striker more often than spamming crosses to him.

It's easy to say we would be better off with a taller striker than Alvarez but I don't see any tall strikers that are on Alvarez level. I would love Alvarez, much more than Haaland but we won't be able to afford him for at least 2-3 years and many things will change in that time.

Umm yeah, 120m is obviously not good for business. Not when you factor on top of that Barca wages.

But elections are coming up, so everyone will try and promise someone big.

World play, someone big? Why not Haaland then? :D

Should certainly be top of the list.

Can only imagine what City will demand after the Etikekek and Is-Ok fees.

If we want to start looking at upcoming strikers then we could look at someone like Ilyas Ansah before Dortmund or Chelsea sign him.

Elections are usually in spring/early summer right? So Laporta could actually buy a star, win the elections because of it and then have a shitshow with registering him in late summer. This scenario is very likely.
