2025 World Athletics Championships

After the swimming 6 weeks ago or so, it's now the turn of the land based athletes. This starts on Saturday and runs for 9 days. It's taking place in Tokyo which makes it hard to watch for us Europeans.

Diamond League is quality. Haven't really watched it this season, though.

This is the biggest event in athletics, other than the Olympics obviously.

Been watching the evening sessions which are actually morning and early afternoon here in the UK (though missed yesterday's).

Ingebrigtsen not making the 1500m men's final was a big surprise. Same with Hocker's DQ and Kerr finishing last in the final though doing well to finish in spite of injury. Good to see Seville win the men's 100m. Kipyegon is a beast of a woman in her event. Some other interesting one too.

Obviously many (all?) of them are doping, but have to suspend disbelief.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone with an all-time great performance in the 400m flat. Broke 48 seconds. So did Paulino.

I didn't watch them unfortunately, but Noah Lyles, Melissa Jefferson-Wooden and Femke Bol won gold in men's 200m, women's 200m, and women's 400m hurdles, respectively. Wish I could have watched but it coincided with the film I was going to go see.

Unfortunately I didn't watch the last few days, but USA totally dominated the four relays today I believe. Three golds and one silver. Action came to a close today, I watched most of it before the last few nights, and it was enjoyable.
