He was ok, nothing special. Did the basics well and kept the ball moving relatively quickly. Many players had an off game today, so very happy we got away with a win, especially after that penalty.

Btw, both were penalties for me, this one and the Tchouameni one as well. I'm just very very suspicious that he went to var and didn't give the Tchouameni one but today he didn't even hesitate.

There isn't a lot happening when he's on the ball unfortunately. With likes of Olmo, Pedri and Yamal on the pitch that's fine but he needs to find his role or forever be a sub to fill in wherever it's needed.

He was fairly average on ball when on v Levante but dont think the team needed much more than that.

Needed him to hold position more than Casado was and not chase anything that moves and then play it simple and early out wide which he did.

Nothing spectacular but some maturity to it compared to games where he like Casado chases ball far too much and at DM cant do that.

Pedri got more freedom with him on.

He would need to do more on ball v better teams particularly if Araujo is at CB as needs massively to be an outlet for him when teams press.

He was better than casado on this position. We all know de jong is the better partner for pedri and will be our main defensive midfielder but for gavi it is important to be the 2nd option ahead of casado. He will also get many minutes because one of the two (pedri and de jong) will get substituted every match.
For what i saw in this game and preseason gavi is clearly ahead of casado so one factor mor to get 30 million for casado
