Yes, there are 100% shady deals going on behind the official channels for chelsea selling their garbage for a decent price to stay inside the ffp. It's all a joke, football becomes more corrupt by the day and no one cares.
Someone mentioned that Newcastle’s people own the teams that just bought Felix and Nunez ..basically helped out Chelsea and Liverpool

Would our club spend upwards of 60m on a CB? I really don't think so.
On top Tot probably wouldn't even let go for that amount.

The last defender Barca bought, deemed expensive, was Koundé for 50m€. The point was that if the club finds funds to make one big money signing, I think the fans would prefer a top-class CB (for say 60-80m) over top-class striker for 150m.
VdV was one example but he's injury-prone as pointed out by @Don Juan Laporta Estruch. But I can't think of anyone else who's left footed, tall, fast, good on the ball, still relatively young and yet with enough experience to adapt to the rigors and pressure of playing for a big club. Havent watched Murillo so I dont have an opinion. But he's 180 cms so thats an immediate no for me. lol

Buying unknowns/ low profile young CBs from lower leagues, unless they are supremely talented, never work. Given the unforgivable nature of being a CB, esp for Barca, any mistake will get you easily exposed and shatter your confidence. And since we are looking at a partner for Cubarsi, its best to choose wisely (experience + proven).

No negotiations with PL clubs please. They will ask Yamal+Pedri+Camp Nou for 50 years if we want starting CB

Italians mean business. They are still within normal. And of course, you know who I'm pointing at

Has Bastoni ever been seriously linked to any club? He seems to me like an Interista at heart. Given he's Inter's defensive talisman, even if he wanted to move, I reckon their Ultras would probably block his move.

My favorite is Schlotterbeck of the House Dortmund. Tall as Fuck. LEFT fucking Footed. Good passer of the ball. Fast enough, at least faster than Inigo & Cuba, or even Bastoni, if we measure it against that barometer.

Yes, he had two meniscus tears, but I think he would be fine. I have high hopes for Flick's medical team. Plus its Dortmund, they would be easier to deal with than Tottenham.

An unknown CB can only come to us if he's seen as a sub for a couple of years. Only then would he succeed. Or else it will be a fail.

I think its the opposite. Most us fans who are rational, or engaged 24/7 online knows we need a CB more than a ST.
But I don't think the local fans will think like that. There is a reason why we never buy expensive CBs, and we were so thin during the Messi days and earlier. Club heavily prioritises a ST because that's what the locals wants, that's what the current board can get votes on, and that's what sells.
And that's the reason why I think we would again have a Nico like situation next season. Double it up, if we need to buy a LW, as Rashford didn't work out.

The main good thing is it seems like there might not be any quality 9's available next season

@Messi983 A little more info on Spina if interested.

Sport reporting today that Deco is looking for a low cost u23 defender with first team potential this season. That will train and flip between A and B.

So this kid looks to fit the profile.

Depending on exits, budget could increase.

Shame we have to operate on a budget

-1/10 of the size of Liverpools, Chelseas, Arsenals, Man Utd
-1/7 of the size of Sunderlands
-1/6 the size of Tottenhams
-1/5 the size of Burnleys
-1/3 of the size of West Hams, Nottinghams Forests, Leeds, Everton,

-Same size as Championship side Norwich.

Tnx.

Sport is mentioning that Deco plans to sign a U23 defender who could be registered for the B team but be in the first team dynamics.

Trying to get around registration rules ofc, not sure Tebas would actually allow it though. Wonder if Spina is that guy or if Deco has someone who has experience at a bit higher level than Primera RFEF if he would actually need to step up to the first team. No idea who that other guy could be but maybe we can find another Mika Faye and actually give him some first team minutes this time.

Other question is if Spina is better (or has higher potential) than Sergi Dominguez and Eman Kospo who we sold this summer for cheap.

We are looking to sign (well, initially get them on prolonged trial) two more kids from the Africa Foot academy we have a partnership with.

1. Aboubacar Maiga. Newcastle and other PL teams reportedly after him too but he's apparently a big Barca fan

Bit strange they call him the Malian Messi here but in the Sport article they describe him more as #4

Aboubacar Maiga is the player who would best fit Barça right now. He's a highly technical, organizing midfielder with exceptional skills for African football. He's a creative player with great vision and could adapt to the highly-developed number 4 position in Barcelona's youth system. Barça's coaches have been monitoring his development for months and are convinced he could be a very interesting player.

2. Moustapha Traoré

Moustapha Traoré is a very fast winger with excellent one-on-one skills and a good crosser. The academy coaches praise his technical ability and progress, although he could use some improvement in his goalscoring stats. A powerful and skillful player similar to Ibrahim Diarra, who has made such a positive impression on the Blaugrana club in the months since he was signed.

(from the above mentioned article)
