I agree with you. However, if a player isn't wanted by a club anymore and has any kind of ambition and self respect he would negotiate his way out. This just shows how toxic person Mats is. Furthermore, he showed ZERO ambition to finally start for Germany NT during the next WC. In contrast, when Neuer was still playing he was bitching 24/7 how he should be a starting GK.

Regarding Laporta and our management board, the main obstacle for returning to 1:1 rule is Camp Noun renovation. However, the stadium works are seriously delayed due to issues with the existing concrete structure, which had to be reinforced. It’s very hard to place the blame on Laporta or the club’s management for that.

The truth is that situation is horrible once again but this is probably the last summer we are witnessing this kind of a shit show. Until summer of 2026 all stands should be finished and than only the roof remains to be completed.

I admire your optimism but it's been one lie after another and it's one shitshow after another.
I fully expect the cost of new stadium to be significantly higher than they said as well.

Things spill to the dressing room too now with Ter Stegen saga and Flick getting fucked over with losing an actual captain of the team a week before La Liga starts.

Someone needs to be held responsible. Bartomeu was bad a Trebas is a dick but Laporta took over on his own will to make things work. So do the fucking work and treat this club with professionalism it deserves.

So Stegen is a toxic person because he doesn't want to be fucked in the ass by the club.
I get the club's stance, but on the other hand what were they expecting? That Ter Stegen just leaves money on the table because he has to be labelled as a nice guy on barcaforum?
I never heard people in here saying the club is toxic for being ruthless and acting solely in its own interest.

True, that's just how it works.

Everyone is literally after their interests; the same goes for the Club, Players, and Fans.

I've come to understand this and I'm not quick to blame players or the club anymore, cause most times it's just a fight for personal interest, so it's what it is.

In the past, I felt some of the criticism he faced was unfair, but there’s only so much mediocrity you can tolerate especially in the absence of any personal virtues to speak of. For me the last straw was when he tried to throw his teammate under the bus rather than take ownership of his mistake for the loss against Monaco. He's the antithesis of what leadership and integrity stands for. A vindictive and self-entitled individual who will go to any length to serve his ego even if it meant putting the entire house on fire.

It's true that the club has historically employed underhanded tactics to push players out, that were considered superfluous to requirement. It can act ruthless and work in its own interest. Its an institution that organizes numerous sporting projects and upholds a legacy that transcends any single player. Even then, any act deemed unjust towards one of its employee can potentially rally plenty of support if the said employee had any redeeming qualities. Ter stegen has ZERO. Hence his toxicity has fewer takers and will be the end of him at Barca, and potentially his intl football aspirations.

Ter Stegen’s actions have little to do with medical autonomy since he publicly disclosed his recovery in absence of club or medical report alignment - unprecedented, as was his refusal to sign off on the medical report (1st in Liga history)

It’s a response to being replaced by Garcia, no Barça player much less Captain ever deliberately undermined club in this manner

He took the nuclear option, says more about him than club or Laporta

That's what a woman cheating on a man will do.

Quite frankly, It could have only been worse if he opened the bedroom drawer and Riqui Puig was inside naked, wearing only a gerkin flavoured condom.

"How could you screamed" ter Stegen.

"You said you hated gerkins!"

We'll isn't that what all the haters wanted him to do? Compete with players that are deemed by haters as superior to him?

Now that he wants to stay and compete with Garcia and Tek it's no good?

Goes to show that he called the club's bluff and didn't want to sign on fake reports that would keep him out for longer than it is needed.

Before, yes. Now he laid his bed, gonna sleep in it.

He doesn't wanna compete with other keepers lol, he wants them to not be registered so in his mind they have to play him.

Even his answers when rumors about Garcia surfaced were focused on Joan and Tek not being at Barca. Not what you see from top performers who adopt a position how they are not afraid of competition in a sort of bring it on mindset.

Last time this guy had top competition he had to cry in the media about it and get the other guy sold to claim his spot. You have to be an idiot or play the pretend games to not see this guy's methodology when dealing with competition. It's documented by now. Triple strike, Bravo, Neuer at NT, Garcia.

My guess is that he has a projected fake arrogance out of a deep feeling of insecurity. He'd get away with all of this and then some if he was actually a top tier keeper but he's not. All teams know it, or else he wouldn't be Umtiti 2.0. If he had all these issues but he was a top keeper, many teams would be lining up to get him regardless. But all we get is silence on this front.

This fake arrogance, not backed by anything really, can lead you places, often causing imposture, but sometimes you meet the wrong boss and he's not having any of it.

Look at the mentality of Raphinha. Pissed off Raphinha wanted to leave because he felt Xavi messed up with him. Confident Raphinha takes all challenges without flinching. That fits the reactions you expect to see in a big competitor at polar opposite states, felling unhappy vs feeling he is valued properly. Stegen has none of those reactions you look for. He sent all the wrong signals from the start.
