10 - Lamine Yamal

There's no such thing as role models for people with a certain degree of arrogance. Yamal obviously has a high opinion of himself because if he didn't, he wouldn't have toyed with those Inter defenders in a CL semifinal, his first. It's a strong personality trait, and like all dominant personality traits, it brings good things, but it can also burn you if you're not careful. He's probably not an introvert or a shy person, which means his confidence is gonna project in all sorts of loud ways. That's who he is, wether you like it or not. A product of his generation, which makes his story worth following even from a sociological angle.

When he says he liked Neymar, he simply picked someone close to his personality. It's more like Neymar is similar to him than viceversa. We will see if he loves football more than Neymar did. Neymar obviously liked partying and having fun more than football itself. And when football got him the required status, it fell to 2nd place instantly.

I don't blame kids btw, but social media and lacking of regulations, and/or parenting. I got into those short clips and bullshit videos on some social media, mostly made with AI probably, and you could feel the idiotic attraction. And I'm pushing 40s. Imagine a kid with time on his hands with a phone.

One of the most damaging things ever invented imo.

He is the next in the tradition and historical lineage of the great 10s at Barca.
Ansu was unfortunate, but I am sure Lamine will cement his name there:

10-Kubala (1950s)

10-Suarez (1960s)

10-Maradona (1980s)

10-Romario (early 1990s)

10-Rivaldo (late 1990s, early 2000s)

10-Ronaldinho (mid 2000s)

10-Messi (late 2000s, 2010s)

10-Yamal (mid 2020s onwards)

And that's just the number 10s.

Barca and Real really have had their pick of the greatest players of all time. With it being in no small part due to Latin players or South American players tending to be the best players and preferring Spanish clubs to Northern European, for obvious reasons.
