Odds can't be stacked against us when we won 2 in 3 TBH, and added at least 1 player to the squad since the first title and will probably add two this summer by its all said and done.

We are ahead of our rivals in the league, they have to spend to catch up, we have to spend less to stay ahead and rely on our historical advantage la masia, which every coach who won recently for us in a meaningful way (pep, Enrique) had to as well.

But beyond that, yea flick will have to do his thing, which is a brilliant job.

But the spending = success isn't a straight line for us.

The current Barca fans mood is insane. Reading these posts feels like we coming from a 0 title humiliating season with 4 clasicos lost in a row and not the other way around. Just because Deco doesn't satisfy the muppets with shiney toys each week.

You want to cheer in the transfer market to buy and sell players like underwear, go to Chelsea, QSG or Shitty. Barca has first of all a functioning lasting team as a priority, while fixing the financial situation simultaneously, which resulted in the first place directly by acting like some idiots demand here.

We need a LW that's about it and I will be stunned if we don't sign someone by the end of the window.

Just have to accept Martin at LB, because he isn't doing nowhere, unfortunately.

That one requires about 30% luck unless you're Madrid and have the strongest voodoo in history
Ya. I dont dispute.
But another good run would satisfy me. Squad is young, would develop character.
And if we are not gassed out chasing Laliga or CDR we might have a better chance.

Madrid went for a string of Semi's for about 4 years or so without a final. And look what they achieve later.

Yeah Madrid went 3 consecutive years getting knocked out in the semi finals.

What we need to aim for now, is to win the whole thing if we can’t we console ourselves with the 2nd consecutive semi final and the first consecutive semi final since 2013.

Xavi won the league after a major spending spree and one of the best transfer windows in recent memory for any club.

That summer, Barca brought in Raphinha, Kounde, and Lewandowski, alongside Kessie, Christensen, and others on free transfers.

Flick didn’t enter the season as a favourite, yet came out on top, credit to him and the team for that.

But I don’t get why some people take this personally: if a team doesn’t invest to fix its weak points, it’s naturally less likely to win than a comparable one that does.

Just because Barca has managed it once or twice doesn’t suddenly invalidate what is in general a perfectly logical and true statement.

It’s what it is, but we’re playing the game at a disadvantage.

Ya.
And if we are not going to strengthen our squad this season, I don't think the fanbase has any justification when criticizing Filck.

I am preparing myself to be slightly disappointed. Last season IMO, we overachieved. Its not sustainable with a thin squad like ours.

If that's aimed at me, I agree with you here, that's not my point. The team invests in its weak points. We got a new GK and are looking for an affordable LW. My post was a general observation about the ones that look envious at other team's shiny signings and cry about it that we don't have them as well.

Transfer comparisons only in name and fee, without taking into account the actual need and financial situation is just muppetery.

On a side bar Atleti flipping de Paul for Cardoso outside of age, is a backwards step.

De Paul has always played well especially in games against better opponents.

But I also don't think their is a bigger man crush in football than de Paul and messi

Yes, we are competing at significant disadvantages to the rest.
Yes, this season will be more difficult than the previous one.
Yes, our Sporting Department are terrible at their jobs.

But when you sit back, chill and rationally analyse the transfers so far this season, who have we actually missed out on? Who could you look at and say " I wish we'd bought him. He'd be perfect here.".

Mosquera is a great punt for 15m, but he is awful aerially and that's something our defensive line severely lacks.

The only one is Big Gyok. If he can recreate his Sporting form for Arsenal he will be the signing of the summer. And it will doubly sting, because we will go and spend double his 62m fee on Isak or Alvarez in 2026.

Having said that, I think Bardghji for 2m is one of the most astute pieces of business across Europe so far this season.
