1 - Marc-Andre ter Stegen

Horatio

You're welcome
Imo no but same discussion was with Lenglet, that we should be able to get some cash for Liga proven player. But understand that salary is more important to shed at this point than holding out for money.
Getting him off the books, doesn’t that help us regarding FFP as well regardless of having to pay chunk of what he is owed?

We should be getting money for him.

I don't know all the financials. But with the FFP looming and fuckin Scrotum saying we can't register without sales, the whole of Europe knows we got a paper hand. That's one problem.

But mostly, the salaries we have these guys on is the most limiting factor. Ter Stegen salary is a large unknown because Catalan media is saying it is big (20m, probably with his deferrals), while sources like Capology have it as unverified.

The only thing we do know is he took a 30% "paycut" in 2023 which is what he will ask the club for to leave. Completely logical on his part.

The last problem is we are [obviously] not an EPL club to take advantage of their inner bubble, but also lack the connections on a leadership business level to get those Saudi deals that, for example, Boehly can smash out in Saudi.

Another problem is barcelona is a beautiful city located in a beautiful country. While Clubs like chelsea are located in england😂 thats a bigger push factor for players

True. Hard to beat a big city with coastal towns by the sea.

With that said, the Valencia project killed a big club. Shame.

I wonder if with Espanyol's buyover whether they could be a viable option for Stegs.

I know they signed Dimi ok a free, but that's the old ownership.

Ter Stegen would certainly be a big name of intent for that project.

Fit, motivated and fresh pussed Stegen would definitely have a point to prove.

Never. He's far too proud to sink to Espanyol's level and he would never fit their salary structure. Not a chance, no matter from sporting or financial point of view.

It's not just that, but for a team at Espanyol's current level they wouldn't improve much even with the best GK around. Top outfield players are a far bigger improvement.

Ter Chud lol. Unfortunately he never really showed any kind of toxic masculinity on the field and mostly was one of the teams most mentally weak characters that would break at crucial moments.
