35 - Gerard Martín

You didn't engage one upside I listed, your whole argument is based on one mistake. If clubs would kick players because of a single mistake, there wouldn't be one stable team around. There wouldn't be one younger player longer than a season in a club after this logic. This is no discussion, this is simply hating, so no point in dragging this further.

Hope is not a valid strategy.

You cannot hope that a player like Gerard Martin takes big steps when he has proven to be lacking in quality. We've had a lot of players like him in the past. Miranda for example.

Obviously the financial aspect will dictate it, but if they're able to make another signing for 15-20m then a left-back or a versatile FB should be the top priority, and if you have offers for Gerard Martin that are decent then you need to take those.

As for the La Masia aspect then Gerard Martin is not going to be that guy. He's not even from La Masia. We need to stop calling players that didn't play in the youth categories for La Masia graduates.

The guy to bet on anyway will be Jofre Torrents who might not be ready until 2026 or 2027.

Meanwhile they need to find a good veteran player.

I'm hoping to get a goal keeper level surprise with this one.

But with him playing well in the SF in attack, I see him staying unfortunately.

He joined Barca B at age 21, he's not a La Masia product.

Yup.

Araujo is more of a La Masia product than Gerard Martin and I wouldn't say Araujo is from La Masia either.

Maybe it's just me, but unless a player played for minimum Juvenil A or lower age categories then you cannot be a La Masia product to me.

Gerard Martín: Was the Inter away my best? Yes, one of my best matches. I also loved the Dortmund match away. The Inter match ended badly for everyone, but although I was internally satisfied with my performance, I felt great sadness because of the result." #fcblive

See guys, nothing to worry about.

It wasn't really all that of a great match all things considered

But it's better to hear "I'm satisfied" than crying forever about it and never improving

Nah man, this is worse.

Our Left was exposed the whole Inter tie. And one of the major reasons was him. Yes, he had two assists, but had a dog shit game generally.

And if that constitutes him being "satisfied", then I really don't understand what our analysis team is doing. Or him thinking that's his level, and he is happy.

If we had a transfer budget than a leftback would be one of the first moves we would make.

Back in the day Laporta and then Rossell always went with solid depth at fullback from Gio/Maxwell to Sylvinho, etc.

The market has slightly changed, those 5-10 backup options are now 15-25m, which is not that bad had our finances not been shot to pieces.

Now we got to make do with La Masia and the guy from accounting. It is what it is.
