Nothing wrong with praising him back in the day, especially when we won the league title, he was one of the best defenders in the world.

But he also fucked up against PSG and Inter, so those same people can also call him out on that.

But some have gone to bit too far with their criticism, but the criticism is generally fair and doesn't take away from him being great when he was.

He was good large parts of last season as well, but fucked up when it mattered most.

Whether he should have been out in that position is a different conversation.

Same people who call araujo a bad defender would want bastoni who also cannot bring his best in flicks system.
Araujo is sn italian typ of defender, if you want the best out of him play a deeper back-line or try to train him the system in the pre-saison. I am 100% sure he would get his form and 60+ market value if he plays for a normal defense.

For me cubarsi is no good defender, but he understands the system but there will never be defensive stability with him as there were no stability last year. unless he develops further, which is quite possible given his age. So prove me wrong.
But why isn't he getting any criticism for his abysmal performances last season? Just because he's a La Masia player and 18? He's a starting eleven player and has to perform like a 28-year-old or sit on the bench to develop.

I am fine with him.
Say whatever, but he is 2x the player Martin is.
Pretty good crosser of the ball. And carries the ball forward pretty well.
Unlike Martin whos world seems to be crashing down when you want him to progress the ball.
