I think that comparison was a bit unfair for Zlatan especially with the comments stating he's overrated. He was undoubtly one of the very best strikers in the world back then. What matters is people refused to acknowlege the performances Eto'o displayed in those years (from 2002 to 2009) although the stats made him the undesputed best striker in the world that period. They rather give credits to his teammates while the other top scorers had the lights and praises on them and it was the case of Zlatan who was presented like god for Inter Milan. So even if Eto'o scored 40 goals with his teams winning a season he was still underrated in Europe. You had to be a die hard La Liga's fan to appreciate him the way he deserved. Then people started thinking Eto'o isn't that good and everybody can do at least or even better than him. However, they didn't learn the lesson with players like Henry, Larsson, Gudjonhsen, Saviola who shared the team with him without reaching his level; then players like Ibra failed with us and even David Villa who was good his first season didn't reach the expectations nor the level he had for Valencia.
We had to wait until Luis Suarez to have a comparable striker for us. So, I rather say Zlatan was just unlucky in his carreer and couldn't fit our football. And I think it's as time goes by people started to understand that being the number 9 of FC Barcelona was more difficult than in any other team because those players had less opportunities than in the other teams they played in and had to work more for the team.
